Located next to the Book Bank, down town Martinsburg. It's worth the challenge to find a close parking space from the restaurant because the food is good and the price is reasonable. Could use a little friendlier better service.

We decided to give Peking a try for an early lunch. The woman who greeted us was very friendly and seated us promptly. We were given an ample amount of time to look over the menu before she returned. She answered all of our questions and made sure to clarify if we wanted the dish how most Chinese people prefer or if we preferred it Americanized. This was a key moment for me. You can tell when you are in a real authentic place when they are willing to ask you that up front. I have seen many places fail trying to pass Americanized Chinese food off as authentic. Peking is most definitely authentic but they are willing to accommodate those seeking a more American taste. I ordered a lunch combo of tea, hot and sour soup, egg roll, and chicken and broccoli with fried rice. The soup was delicious -- full of flavor and spice with big chunks of tofu and vegetables. The chicken and broccoli was also very good if a tad bland. I would order it again but perhaps ask for a bit more spice. Overall a nice lunch. We will definitely be back and maybe bring the whole family the next time.

Went to The New Peking for dinner last evening. The fried rice was inedible--had been cooked in rancid, old oil. My husband got the shrimp with cashews & was not able to eat more than a couple bites---said it tasted spoiled. I got the shrimp with mixed vegetables--was mediocre at best. I will say the gin & tonic drinks were acceptable. I will never go back to this restaurant & will let my friends know not to bother trying it out. Spent $56.00 on a truly unappetizing, inedible meal.

From the time you walk in you'll feel like family. The food is so delicious and authentic. The staff is inviting and more than respectful. It recently changed hands in management and has only made the experience better. Do yourself a favor and check this place out! you will not regret it !

This is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The best Szechuan shrimp I've ever had anywhere, and the spare ribs are also wonderful. Make sure you go to the bar in back and say hello to Kane. He's an amazing bartender who makes everyone feel welcome and special.

My wife ang I stopped in here for lunch for the first time. Service was prompt. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. Seven bucks for a dinner is a fair price.

Peking is a staple in downtown Martinsburg. If you haven't eaten there, you should try it. When I was in high school we all thought the building was haunted and would go to see if we would catch a ghost. Tonight is the first time I have eaten there in more than 10 years. I went with 3 other people. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by a friendly gentleman who took us to our seats. Ordering was quick and the food came very quickly. I had the schezuan scallops. Others at the table had lemon chicken, orange chicken, and combo rice. The schezuan dish had great sauce and the ingredients tasted very fresh. I also tasted the orange chicken which was very well done. I didn't try the other dishes, but the person who ordered the lemon chicken commented on how it was all white meat and very tasty. If I was only rating food, I would give them a 4 or 4.5. The killer is the ambiance. Maybe there is a separate section that I didn't see, but my memories were of a large dining room that was well decorated. This evening felt like we were in an a cramped little room that looked more industrial than dining establishment. In addition, there was a woman who worked there who didn't seem very busy (we were the only ones there at the time) who stood and stared the entire dinner. To the point that I was getting uncomfortable eating because I thought I must have sprouted a 2nd head. One of our party members was very quiet through dinner and upon leaving revealed that she felt nervous the whole time with "the woman who was staring at the table". So not just my observation. Ambiance and atmosphere I would give a 2 which is how I ended up with my rating. I would go back because the food is really good, but maybe I would try a different day and time because Wednesday at 6:30 wasn't very impressive.

Great family-run business that is a long-time Chinese restaurant for Martinsburg. I love the buffet on Friday night, in particular!

Having grown up in Martinsburg, I had the luxury of being able to go to the Peking for 20 years. I practically grew up with many of the staff that are still there today. When I get to town to visit, this is a must-do on my list. No matter how long it has been since I last visited (sometimes often a year or two in between), when I walk in, Kane sees me and immediately makes my usual drink without me reminding him. The food is amazing, the service can't be beat, and this place holds a special place with me in terms of being an amazing restaurant that can't be beat.

Right in downtown Martinsburg, can walk if you live close by. A lot of food, be ready to take a dogie bag.

The Peking Restaurant continues to be a local favorite. Their food is consistently excellent along with their service. While you're there, try a Flaming Volcano from the bar but make sure you share it with someone! The Peking is definitely worth a visit.

This place is THE BEST. I don't quite know where to begin, so I'll start with what happens when you walk in the door - immediate grinning greetings (by name of course if you're a regular) from the Peking service team. I have eaten here probably 50+ times as I've lived in Martinsburg over the years and not once have I not received the warmest welcome. Peking is a community staple. If you're new to the area, it should be on your 'top 5 must visit list'. The food is delicious, and I am very surprised that more Yelp reviews don't reflect this. I have eaten a lot of Chinese food in 29 years and this place is literally THE BEST - fresh vegetables and flavorful sauces! The crunchy noodles they serve are addicting (don't be ashamed to ask for another bowl!). The tofu & vegetables in medium-spicy brown sauce is my go-to order. Other traditional favorites include the vegetable lo mein and Szechuan string beans. My husband (meat eater) recommends the mixed vegetables with chicken in brown sauce. Also, to help all the deliciousness go down, you MUST order a Kane Special - this drink is Martinsburg's most notorious and celebrated cocktails. The perfect subtle blend of fruity spirits - you won't be sorry...well, unless you order more than 1 and try to drive!
