We arrived at the General Lewis Inn 10 minutes before the restaurant opened, and enjoyed looking around the hotel and waiting in front of the fireside until we were told to come to the restaurant. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, which was quite delicious, and then each had a tasty salad with light dressings. My partner ordered the vegetarian... More

My brother is a lifelong resident of Lewisburg. hehas been taking his extended family to GL for Christmas Eve dinner for 32 years. the group has now grown to 22 people. It has become a family tradition. This past Christmas Eve we arrived for our standing 5:30 reservation. Upon being seated we saw a one page pre selected 5 course... More

Wonderful breakfast with unique selection items. I had the Cajun BLT breakfast. The bread is homemade and the cajun mayonnaise made this a great light meal to start the weekend. Michael Coleman has been working there for over twenty years and loves his job. One item was missing from my meal, and he delivered it within minutes from the kitchen... More

It was very quiet when we there - in fact we were the only active table in the restaurant. We went with a local couple who knew both the owner and the wait staff. Service was excellent and friendly. The atmosphere is "old inn" and it looks a little worn but is comfortable. I had the Spanokopita - not what... More

My husband and I often pass by Lewisburg for work related reasons in the fall and always stop in Lewisburg. We have eaten here before (last year) and it was good. This time it was a total disaster. We called for reservations when we were about an hour out. We wanted 5:15 and settled for 5:30. We were not told... More

The historic Inn now has new owners; they also own the wonderful Stardust Cafe in town. They don't do lunch anymore, but do breakfast AND an amazing Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 AM to 2 PM. They don't take reservations for brunch but if you get there before 10 or so (I was told their busy time was... More

Historic, well located spot. Nice people. Beautiful backyard garden. Gargantuan, but very tasty breakfast (allow time for slow delivery). Only complaint: the bed in 122 was rock-like.

The fried chicken is the best!! I understand the desire to remain authentic historically, but there is a difference between felling historical, and feeling tired. The property has bee purchased by the group that owns Stardust Cafe, and we were told that they plan to overhaul the entire place. We actually bumped into one of the new owners, and she... More

Perhaps it's because the General Lewis is in transition with a new owner, but our experience with the dining room was disappointing. My trout was supposed to be fresh but tasted, not only like it had been frozen, but microwaved as well. Another person at our table had the prime rib which he said was tough. The music was loud... We had breakfast at the General Lewis Inn. Nice service, good food, reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend if you're staying at the General Lewis Inn. There are plenty of options for all types (vegetarian, etc.)
