Spent an enjoyable evening on the terrace at The Livery with friends. The wait staff was delightful, friendly , and efficient. The dinner included salmon, trout, and scallops, all prepared well and tasting excellent. Another enjoyable evening in Lewisburg.

The prices are very expensive, especially for such a small area, but the portions are good sized. The prime rib was butterflied, filled with herbs and other flavors, then prepared perfectly. Unusual and very tasty. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Extensive wine list, but check to see if they have 2 bottles before ordering if necessary. We wanted a second... More

I have made multiple trips to this restaurant over the years and have never failed to be underwhelmed. The food is good but even for Lewisburg is quite expensive and not good value. The service is spotty and on various visits ranged from atrocious to very good. The ambiance is poor and the noise level can be uncomfortable if you... More

We went to The Livery with another couple. We usually split a meal, as do the other couple, because most of the time one serving is large enough for two. We tried to order the salmon, but they were out, so we ordered the scallops. The other couple ordered the trout, but were told that this was also unavailable, so... More

The restaurants in Lewisburg keep getting better and better. The Livery serves up innovative cocktails, tasty appetizers, and sumptuous entrees. The cheesecake dessert was indescribably good - save room! Our party was large, but the staff handled it well. The size did enable us to have a taste of nearly every appetizer, and they were all worth a nibble. The... More

Very cool unexpected and classic spot. You know how some places just get it- they do in every way. Food and cocktails exceeded expectations for the best restaurant.

We very much enjoyed our first visit to the Livery. The appetizers all looked so good we couldn't decide between them so we ordered about 6 or 7 instead of ordering entrees and they were all great. Looking forward to trying some of the main dishes next time.

Brought 8 customers and co-workers to The Livery for dinner. Travel delays made us 20 minutes late and we were very graciously accommodated. Restaurant is very attractive, accented with antiques but not fussy at all. The table, settings, etc are all well-selected and comfortable. Our waiter was outstanding- the service was as good as you will find in any major... More

I have been to Paris, I lived in Philadelphia for 12 years during their restaurant Renaissance. I have eaten at Le Bec Fin a few times. Who would ever think that the best lamb that I would ever eat would come from a restaurant in WV that had the word Tavern in its title? You have probably guessed by now... More

First and foremost, our family loves the town of Lewisburg; it's shops, people and rich history. Our family has been visiting Lewisburg since 2003 when we purchased Westwinds, a horse farm in western Virginia near Lake Moomaw. While we've enjoyed the several restaurants in town, we also felt the locals as well as tourists would welcome and support more restaurant options, and so far we've been right! Our family's first restaurant, Stella's, has been a hit since we opened in January, 2011. Stella's, named and inspired after our mom Alice Stella Hirt who passed away in 1985, is warm, welcoming and elegant, just like our mom was. Stella's has many feminine touches which were influenced by our mom and put into place by Tammy. Our newest restaurant, The Livery Tavern, on the other hand is a very masculine interpretation of a mid-1800's tavern, with an open beamed ceiling and a generous use of natural materials and earth tones both inside and out. The Livery has a full bar, privacy booth seating, outdoor patio seating and an extensive wine and port list. Our menu is a reflection of this same interpretation, with dishes including grilled venison, quail, lamb and local beef cuts like 2 inch bone-in rib eyes. The Livery is also fashioned with a unique military motif to honor our father Major General John B. Hirt USMC, who passed away in 2012. You'll find these military influences in our logo and other decorative treatments inside the restaurant.
