My wife and I went there for the first time for our 50th anniversary. The sweet and sour shrimp appetizer I had was the best shrimp dish I have ever had! The rest of the two meals were certainly good, but not good enough for the prices they charge.

Our son and his wife came into town from Portland Oregon. While here we made a visit to this place. The food and service were great! We started out with an appetizer - Shrimp coated with a sweet sauce. It was delicious. Our son and his wife shared the Rib Eye Steak, I had a pasta dish and my wife... More

The Livery in Lewisburg had been a tradition for quite a while. With its intimate interior and gorgeous dark wood bar, it boasts an excellent wine list. From steak to fish, a great salad, sides and luscious desserts, definitely worth a visit!

This was an amazing restaurant experience from start to end. The waiter worked quickly and with ease with my dietary allergies. I had the Roasted Beet Salad and Small Plate Scallops. Both were amazing and I would have eaten 14 servings, if I could have! The coconut sorbet in between the appetizer and entree was to die for and the... More

My wife, and I showed up at 7. Was told it was a 30 minute wait, and that we could do so at the bar. The girl behind the bar seemed to not do well with multi tasking or having to work quickly, but was friendly. Just before 8 I seen another couple arrive, then they disappear so I assumed... More

The sweet and spicy shrimp were cooked perfectly. The burger special sucked. Can't speak for the other entrees. Slow service.

We stopped in early one evening based on a recommendation from our daughter. The bartender, Christine, suggested her own creation, a fresh pineapple-cilantro margarita. It was excellent!

A wonderful menu with a variety of of unique flavor combinations. An example would be the dessert I selected of goat cheese ice cream with a balsamic fruit compote and homemade granola. Outstanding!

My wife and I ate at the Livery on two occasions during our trip to Lewisburg - both on a Friday and Saturday night. The food was truly amazing. The wine list - well, there's just not words. It was outstanding. A number of great selections - it was hard to pick just one. The ambiance was beautiful - low... More

My husband and I had dinner here on Friday, April 22nd. I wish I could remember our waiter's name because he was wonderful!! I do know that he went to the University of Louisville and lives in Lewisburg. He was extremely attentive and made numerous suggestions from the menu. The ambiance & lighting of the restaurant was wonderful and made... More

First and foremost, our family loves the town of Lewisburg; it's shops, people and rich history. Our family has been visiting Lewisburg since 2003 when we purchased Westwinds, a horse farm in western Virginia near Lake Moomaw. While we've enjoyed the several restaurants in town, we also felt the locals as well as tourists would welcome and support more restaurant options, and so far we've been right! Our family's first restaurant, Stella's, has been a hit since we opened in January, 2011. Stella's, named and inspired after our mom Alice Stella Hirt who passed away in 1985, is warm, welcoming and elegant, just like our mom was. Stella's has many feminine touches which were influenced by our mom and put into place by Tammy. Our newest restaurant, The Livery Tavern, on the other hand is a very masculine interpretation of a mid-1800's tavern, with an open beamed ceiling and a generous use of natural materials and earth tones both inside and out. The Livery has a full bar, privacy booth seating, outdoor patio seating and an extensive wine and port list. Our menu is a reflection of this same interpretation, with dishes including grilled venison, quail, lamb and local beef cuts like 2 inch bone-in rib eyes. The Livery is also fashioned with a unique military motif to honor our father Major General John B. Hirt USMC, who passed away in 2012. You'll find these military influences in our logo and other decorative treatments inside the restaurant.
