We enjoyed the food here, from great pastas to fresh seafood. The sauces were really good without being overpowering. I had a side of asparagus which cost me $1 per each piece of asparagus! Ridiculous. The wine list is not extensive but well thought out. Besides the vegetable issue, we enjoyed our meal. Try the front porch seating if it... More

The setting is comfortable in an upscale, rustic way. Food was very good (we had trout). It is pricey in comparison to other restaurants in this town. But good for a change.

We were in town and starved so we stopped at the first restaurant we came to. Fortunately it was the Livery! Our dinners were so delicious! Three of us had trout almandine which was the biggest pieces of trout we had ever seen and the best we had ever eaten! The bread with dinner was delicious. We had a great... More

We have wanted to try The Livery for quite some time so I am glad that we finally did but I doubt we will return. We visit Lewisburg often and eat at Food & Friends or General Lewis Inn and are always very happy with the food at both places. The Livery does offer what I consider unique dinners but... More

Went for a late evening dinner and drinks. Good service, little pricey, but good food. Had the the Meat Tray and the Egg Roll, both were good.

Outstanding food and service coupled with a great atmosphere. Had dinner here in mid-July '16-it was really great and a place we will definitely come back to

My wife and I went there for the first time for our 50th anniversary. The sweet and sour shrimp appetizer I had was the best shrimp dish I have ever had! The rest of the two meals were certainly good, but not good enough for the prices they charge.

Our son and his wife came into town from Portland Oregon. While here we made a visit to this place. The food and service were great! We started out with an appetizer - Shrimp coated with a sweet sauce. It was delicious. Our son and his wife shared the Rib Eye Steak, I had a pasta dish and my wife... More

The Livery in Lewisburg had been a tradition for quite a while. With its intimate interior and gorgeous dark wood bar, it boasts an excellent wine list. From steak to fish, a great salad, sides and luscious desserts, definitely worth a visit!

This was an amazing restaurant experience from start to end. The waiter worked quickly and with ease with my dietary allergies. I had the Roasted Beet Salad and Small Plate Scallops. Both were amazing and I would have eaten 14 servings, if I could have! The coconut sorbet in between the appetizer and entree was to die for and the... More

First and foremost, our family loves the town of Lewisburg; it's shops, people and rich history. Our family has been visiting Lewisburg since 2003 when we purchased Westwinds, a horse farm in western Virginia near Lake Moomaw. While we've enjoyed the several restaurants in town, we also felt the locals as well as tourists would welcome and support more restaurant options, and so far we've been right! Our family's first restaurant, Stella's, has been a hit since we opened in January, 2011. Stella's, named and inspired after our mom Alice Stella Hirt who passed away in 1985, is warm, welcoming and elegant, just like our mom was. Stella's has many feminine touches which were influenced by our mom and put into place by Tammy. Our newest restaurant, The Livery Tavern, on the other hand is a very masculine interpretation of a mid-1800's tavern, with an open beamed ceiling and a generous use of natural materials and earth tones both inside and out. The Livery has a full bar, privacy booth seating, outdoor patio seating and an extensive wine and port list. Our menu is a reflection of this same interpretation, with dishes including grilled venison, quail, lamb and local beef cuts like 2 inch bone-in rib eyes. The Livery is also fashioned with a unique military motif to honor our father Major General John B. Hirt USMC, who passed away in 2012. You'll find these military influences in our logo and other decorative treatments inside the restaurant.
