Fantastic Barbecue!

I have had the Pulled pork, the sausage, the brisket and the salads and sides. It is all fantastic! The brisket is my favorite, always tender and melts in your mouth. The staff is very friendly. Ridge View BBQ is a great place to eat.

Incredible pulled pork!

West Virginia may not be known as a BBQ destination, but this place is worth the trip! The pulled pork is smoked just right and tender. The sauce is just right- not too sweet but not overly tangy. The deserts change daily and they're out of this world. 5 stars!

Best brisket ever!

Stopped off I64 near Charleston, WV for lunch. We were able to find a bbq place using Google Maps. Ridge View us one that showed up in search and we were not disappointed Ridge View was included. We had the brisket sandwich and brisket salad. All we could say was, OH MY GOD!!! SO GOOD! We are able to travel a bit between Tennessee, NC and Virginia to see our kids. So, we love a good bbq place. Ridge View was not good it was GREAT! We were given knife and fork to eat the brisket. Not necessary, it was so tender and nearly melted in our mouths. Thank you Ridge View for an awesome lunch! We'll be back!!

Kind of disappointing. The pulled pork was good but half of the brisket was like shoe leather. It’s a shame because the other half was pretty good. Ribs were average - unpeeled and a bit tough. A great location and friendly folks.

Taste of Home has made Ridge View its top choice in the Mountaineer State. Unfortunately, our visit proved largely disappointing. While the restaurant is open for lunch, it is drive-through only at the dinner hour. So, we ended up eating the Friday special-- a 4 meat/ 4 side platter-- at our hotel. There was a lot of food here for $24.93 plus tax, with a bag of pork rinds and an apple crisp bringing the bill up to $36.02. For the meats, we chose brisket, ribs, pulled pork and Italian sausage, and for the sides corn muffins, coleslaw, green beans, and mac 'n cheese. The pork rinds were great, but the heavily sauced ribs proved mushy and bland. The Italian sausage was unremarkable, but the pulled pork was a very tasty bite that we would order again without hesitation. The 4 sides and the apple crisp weren't bad, but there was nothing memorable about any of them. This leaves the brisket, which is the epicenter of the BBQ universe. This was sliced too thick, lacked a pink ring, bark and discernible seasoning, and whatever smokiness it might have once possessed vanished beneath a slathering of sauce. Texture and flavor profile alike called to mind buffet roast beef with sauce added. So, if you dine here, our recommendation is that you go with the pulled pork, and sides of coleslaw and corn muffins.

On the way to Hilton Head--NOT!

On our way to Hilton Head, except for Dorian changing courses, and we stopped here for lunch. Mid-afternoon meal with brisket that was incredible. Wait staff very attentive and ambiance was good. Would definitely try this place again. I'm sure it is very busy evenings and weekends.

I have never gotten anything I did not like from Ridge View BBQ. The smoked pork sandwiches are good. I usually eat them with a fork. The Mac and Cheese side is the best. The brisket is great as are the ribs!

Great barbecue and friendly!

I eat barbecue there once a month and ti is cooked on their smoker and great. The price for eating there is 7 to 10 dollars! The burger is good but must be cooked ahead of time. I can order 2 burgers for myself and guest and comes out in less than 5 minutes. That is the only thing I would improve. Everything else is perfect and quality food for a great price!

Went for lunch with my wife, I got the briscuit sandwich and wife got pulled pork, I had to eat 1/2 of my meat before I even tried to eat as a sandwich and meat was very good. Wife pulled pork was same she liked it and a very large serving of meat, slaw was good as were other sides, We will go back whenin the ares.

Ate at this restaurant for lunch and enjoyed the dining experience. The food was tasty and plentiful. We received very good service by the friendly staff. Good food and good service....a good combination.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

My husband and I eat here almost weekly. Wonderful, friendly staff, very clean and oh and did I mention how good the food is?! You need to try everything on the menu. Seriously! I've never had a single bad experience here. The Porky Cheese Fries, the Loaded Baked Potatoes (seasonal) and the Burgers are my favorite!

Colleague and I stopped in for lunch while on a business trip, and very glad we found this place! Great BBQ for a decent price! VERY quick and friendly service to boot! I wanted to try several meats so I got a pick 3 platter and tried the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. All three meats were great and the Mac n cheese and potato salad sides were awesome too. I ate so much I didn’t need dinner that day! Will definitely be back!
