Situated in the hills above Charleston West Virginia, it is a non-pretentious spot for a fine restaurant. The dinner menu is small but truly good food. The lobster resotto coupled with grilled halibut with especially inviting. Do not pass up the oysters Rockefeller. Crabcakes are wonderful as was the diver scallops. Busy, so you should make a reservation.

I had never seen this restaurant even though I passed by it on several occasions. When our friends suggested we go there for lunch, we did. The ladies greeted us at the front door and could t have been nicer to us. It was a quaint restaurant that looked like it had been there for some time. There was limited... More

Their lunch menu is so great !! I usually don't know what to order and the food is well prepared and tasty, but ......... Oh my goodness, what is wrong with their dinner menu and prices? $15 for a hamburger .... NO fries or garnish ! $19 for a $2 piece of fish ....no garnish or anything else on the... More

Looking at this restaurant from the outside, you can see that at some point in the past, it was a diner - the internal layout will also match this description. However, once you look at the menu, get a peek at the Chef's choices, and the presentation of each meal, this is a place that would fit in any large... More

Ordered Pork Enchiladas. Presentation was nice. There were two. Meat in the first one was somewhat fatty but edible. The meat in the second one was so tough I couldn't cut it. I advised the waiter who said I'm sorry and removed the plate. No offer to comp my meal or offer something else. He actually brought me a check... More

Across the river and up a crazy winding hill you'll pass right by this place without blinking. But you'd be smart to turn around and try harder to find it. The outside is equally misleading. The faded overhead awning and plane looking sign announcing a market and cafe would make you expect a little sandwich shop. This is no little... More

So after we checked into our hotel the capital city hotel or the capitol Hotel see my other reviews we originally were going to go eat at the Bluegrass kitchen but there was some giant beer festival wrapping up just behind the restaurant and there was absolutely no parking and it's not a super awesome neighborhood so we just went... Stopped in Charleston for the night. Nothing looked interesting near the hotel, so looked on TA to find a nice place to dine. Found South Hills Market. This is a cozy place off the beaten path. Never would have found it without TA. What a find! I would drive out of my way if coming near Charleston to dine here... More

Had an enjoyable meal here with friends. Everyone liked their food and service was fine. It is always a little slow here but if you are out for the evening that works

The food was excellent, although the service leaves something to be desired. A little overpriced, but a fun place to take a date. Chef Arbaugh is to be commended for his originality and dedication to great tasting food. We'll definitely go back
