Pizza was good, we had the Hawaiian, fresh pineapple on it. The building needed help, it had a strange smell, they where very nice & lovely people, but the building brought my review to a three star instead of 4-5

One of the best pizzas I've ever had!! Perfect texture, fresh ingredients, great and friendly staff. Perfect!
The place is on the eastern side of Charleston, WV on I-64 (exit 96). We stopped at the small motel next door just off the hwy. The place is not fancy but turns out excellent. The owner and staff were super friendly. Really a Pizza...place, but has an assortment of other foods. Does have entertainment some nights, if interested. We both tried the Squeak Sandwich (Philly and chicken), plus a salad. First try at a”squeak” but was great. Decided on some huge chocolate chip cookies for dessert (were a lunch special, but we were there about 7PM. The owner made us a fresh batch, and even delivered them to our room. Were super good cookies - not sure his secret (dark chocolate?). Glad we ordered 8 for the rest of the trip.More
The Bobby Dock Sauce is exquisite. It enhances the flavor of any entree. It is such a wonderful blend of tastes. The secret is in the sauce!
Mama and her daughter and helpers are excellent Likewise the bow tie pasta dish and pip squeak sandwich are delicious and super good value Very casual and friendly
Traveling through and happened to stop at the hotel next door. The desk clerk recommended The Riverside Anchor and my wife and I were not disappointed. She had the portabello mushroom dinner and I had the Kimberling Chicken. Both dinners were outstanding. I would go...out of my way to come back here.More
My mother and I stopped in Charleston for the night on our way south. We saw the Anchor Inn on TripAdvisor and thought we’d try it. We had a cold beer, a salad and Shared a squeak with onion rings. The beer was served in...a frosted mug (if you’re a beer snob, you need to know they have the standards and nothing local or fancy) by a friendly staff. The salad was fresh and had onion, tomatoes, olives, banana peppers, and cheese and we were happy with one of the three dressings. The squeak, a proprietary sandwich served in their pizza crust, was delicious. And my mom declared the onion rings the best she has had in years (and she’s 92 so she’s had a few onion rings in her life). Don’t be dismayed by the funky decorating! Look closely and everything is clean even if it has been well-used. And even a member of the kitchen staff came out to ask if we were happy with our meal.More
After reading the reviews I was thinking I would get a great pizza. Not so! Find another place to eat. This is a bar with a few old booths. There are no draft beers only bottles and cans. The tomato pie is sparse on tomatoes...and not tasty. Disappointed!More
As I was new to the area and it was right next door, I decided to check it out. The first time I went I got the chicken wings which were pretty tasty. Next time I got a fish sandwich: but that was kind of...small for the price. I think it's more of a bar/grill than a family restaurant - If that's what you're into.More
The owner really took care of a group of KCS teachers. They provided a sampling of heir best pizzas. Everyone really loved the seasoning on some of the pizzas. Would definitely go again!
This restaurant is located next to the Budget Host Inn and it was so nice to walk next door for a nice meal and drinks after a long day of driving. The staff were friendly and the pizza was good! The menu offered other items...as well.More
The restaurant itself isn't much to look at. We found it by accident three years ago on our way through to Virginia. Don't let the looks keep you from stopping! We make it a point to go there now. BEST pizza and tomato pie EVER!!!...And I don't know what it is about their coolers, but the beer is at the perfect temperature. The stuff food dreams are made of!!!More
I've been eating Anchor pizza since I was a boy and it has stayed true for many years. The pizza has always been very good. The boneless wings are also the best I've had in town. I also enjoy the Squeak sandwiches, nothing else like...them in town. It's a great little old school restaurant on the outskirts of town if you want to avoid the Charleston scene. I recommend.More
We noticed a few stray cats hanging around outside this restaurant when we parked. The inside of this place smelled like cat urine very strongly. My husband had an allergy to cat fur/pet dander and his eyes started to water while we were eating! The...food was not great. The service was very slow even though it wasn't very busy. We won't ever stop here again and will warn people who have allergies.More
This place scared me. I can't say the food was horrible but there was food crumbs all over the the table and the waitress saw me wiping it off. The heat was broken while we there so we dined in winter coats. There are so...many Nick Nacks collecting dust everywhere you feel like your in a hoarders house. The women's bathroom didn't have a door on either the hall or the stall. My 5 year old even commented that this place looks old and dirty. We ate there because my husband and myself were trying to call each other bluffs. Next time he can win!More
