Traveling from NC to IL and stopped in Beckley for the evening. Husband wanted a good beer so we went here. The brew master was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The food was out of this world! Place was charming inside and very clean.
We had 2 flights of beer. All were great except Cran Bernie 2020. That one literally tastes like you licked an ashtray! Otherwise the beers were delicious! I had the pasta of the day, a shrimp pasta with butter, dill, sundried tomatoes and garlic. It...was exceptional. One of my party ordered the blackened catfish po boy. He said it was delicious. Another ordered the Thai chicken wrap. The chicken was tender and the sauce was very good. We also ordered the salted caramel cookie for dessert to share, we were pretty full. It was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant! It was clean and the food, beer and service were excellent!More

We are so glad you enjoyed (almost) everything. We may have felt the burn (bern) a little too much when we smoked that beer, the smoke has seemed to increase with age and we apologize for that. Thank you for taking the time to review...More
Excellent Mediterranean Chicken dish - clean plate club! Craft IPAs were excellent. Sriracha Ribeye was cooked perfectly but didn’t live up to its spicy name. Server Brittney was attentive and the ambiance was cozy located in a historic home.More

Thank you for taking time to review. So glad you enjoyed your food, we are sorry the sriracha didn’t have the kick you were looking for. Sadly we get complaints even our coffee rub is too spicy from some. Next time feel free to ask...More
We were meeting up with our Goddaughter, her husband and young son. We got a room all to ourselves. Imagine that! Two people ordered hamburgers and expressed satisfaction, one had a past meal which was declared good and I had a house salad which was...only just ok.More

Thank you for taking time to review. Sorry the salad wasn’t as good as the burgers. We do make all our dressings in house and have several to choose from. We also allow customization to the toppings on the salad. Hopefully we will be able...More
Knowing that service is spotty here, sometimes with only one server and waiting way too long for our entrees, we decided to go somewhat early on a Saturday. 5:30. When we walked in there were two separate couples waiting to be seated. Three tables already...full in the dining room. So much for going early.
But...service was good this evening as there were 3 servers. We ordered cocktails and appetizers...fried catfish bites and the fried goat cheese. Both very good! The mild jalapeno pepper jelly is excellent! Our salads then came out as we were eating our apps. I always order the Sweet Basil Dressing and it has come in a little cup on the side. Plenty of it. This time it was already on the salad, and not very much. I'll know to ask for it on the side next time. We ordered the Mediterranean Chicken, which I have ordered many times before. It was good, but instead of two whole chicken breasts, which they used to do, it is now already sliced up. Are there still two?...I don't think so. (unless they are very small breasts) And not enough spinach nor artichokes either. Saving money?. (and at $19 thats a hefty price for what you get...imo) The menu says it is in a white wine sauce but I didn't see or taste that. While it was good, the description is a bit misleading.
We also ordered the salmon "special", with sides of green beans and rice. Very good, but again, way to pricey for what you get.
While the service was much quicker this time, our entrees came out while we were still eating the salads, so we had to make room. Our server did not remove the appetizer plates and he never came back to see if "everything was ok".
The restaurant filled up pretty quickly, with people eating in the bar area as well as the other two dining rooms. So glad to see this place going strong despite the iffy service. The food is always good, but please, don't skimp on the ingredients. And don't raise your prices anymore. You are almost in the "fine dining" range, but your service should always reflect that too.More

I chose this place because they brew their own beer. I have a couple different types and liked them all.
I ordered a reuben pizza and it was unique in a very good way.
I sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with...one of the chefs and a nice local couple.
I will not hesitate to eat here in the future.More

On Nov 1, 2019 I went out for dinner at the Dobra Zupas. The restaurant is located in an old house near downtown Beckley. I ordered a local beer which was very good. I ordered the chicken dish. And I waited and waited and waited!...Finally my meal arrived only to be luke warm The server expained that the long wait was due to a party of 12 placed their order before me She offered to make a new dish which would take 15 minutes which i accepted the offer. The difference between the first and second was amazing as it was very good. Service was provided by two young servers with little or no experiance but they have to learn somewhere. They worked hard but not effient. They need training. However I was well treated and I would recommend this restaurant to my family and friends..More

So glad you enjoyed everything. We also apologize again for the wait. We make all our dishes fresh to order and it does put the wait a little longer when a lot of people order at once. We always try and make the experience a...More
The service was slow. We waited for our salads then the meal came before we finished our salad. The salad dressing was excellent but the tossed salad with the store purchased curtons were lacking. No bread service with the salad course.
I had the pasta...of the day. The pasta was perfectly cooked but the meatballs tasted like Sam's club. Again no bread service.
For a restaurant that wants to charge upscale prices, you need to have upscale service and food.More
