Best breakfast we had in Yakima. Tiny, hole-in-the-wall, tucked into a strip-mall wonderful place to eat. The waitresses are super. The chorizo burger is homemade and full of flavor. Even the coffee is good.

My dad and I visited Yakima on a road trip checking out his birthplace. Looking for breakfast other than at a predictable chain restaurant, I consulted TA and found the Backwoods. After scrutinizing addresses in unfamiliar Yakima, we found the place at the back of...a strip mall. We were quickly greeted, seated and ordered scrambles from the huge breakfast menu. The food arrived in short order and was excellent...potatoes done just right with generous amounts of ham in the scramble. The service was equally good with the friendly owner(?) and server at our table refilling our coffee. We don't make it to Yakima often but when we do, the stop will include Backwoods.More

We agree with most of the other TA reviews for this place: well prepared scrambles (we both had vegetarian options), with delicious roasted potatoes, accompanied with unusually good toast. And the service was excellent. What’s not to like about this place. If I lived in...Yakima, this would be my favorite breakfast hangout.More

The lunch here was just plan good home cooked meal. My wife had a Hamburger and salad, in which the salad was fresh and crisp and the Hamburger was very good. I enjoyed a Philly grill sandwich with fries which was very good.

We had breakfast here this morning. We have been here a few times in the past several years. The staff is super friendly and nice, great service. Today I had the chilaquiles and my partner had machaca. Both were tasty. I had a side of...refried beans and my partner had the pan friend potatoes, which are pretty good, crispy and flavorful. The chilaquiles were pretty good. I was just spoiled with some homemade ones last week, so it’s not fair to compare. The machaca was reported to be excellent. Our favorite breakfast spot in Yakima by far. Plenty of free parking.More

Pretty basic menu fare, with a few eclectic entries, but from what I could tell from adjoining tables, not a single person was complaining about the food the portions, or the service. Neither was I - - this will be a regular stop on my...random trips into Yakima, and I may just make a special trip up just to visit again. It's that good!.More

Truly local breakfast and lunch. Nothing fancy. Open from 7am - 2pm. Lots and lots of breakfast options. We ate lunch -- side salad and BLT and grilled veggie sandwiches. Very good. Quick service. Fair price. Recommended.

On a Sunday morning the restaurant was crowded but there were a few open tables. When the hostess said it would be a 5-10 minute wait we were puzzled. There was a table not 6 feet from us. Anyway we pointed out the table as...we were in a hurry to get back on the road traveling to Idaho. She got us menus and sat us there. The rest of the visit was very pleasurable. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered eggs, hash browns and toast, no meat. Food came out cooked as ordered except the toast. Toast is expected to have some color which this did not. The waitress re-ordered and the second toast was perfect. Best part...the manager came over and apologized and said the plate should never have left the kitchen. The food was average but then we only had simple breakfast. Kudos for the manager.More

Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but they served one of the best breakfasts we have had in awhile! Scramble had just a touch of cheese, which was perfect. We will definitely go again. A tip, they close at 2, and they mean it....Good for them for keeping their priorities straight!More

In town for a conference and decided to hunt for a proper eggs/potatoes/toast breakfast restaurant and this was perfect! Food and service were great. Attentive, friendly and delicious! Coffee cup was never empty and bacon was perfectly crispy. It looks a little industrial from the...front, but don’t let that fool you. Might go back tomorrow!More

This was our favorite dining during a conference in Yakima. Had breakfast here both mornings and will return on future visits. Loved the fresh home made corn tortillas and enchilada and verde sauces.

Quality far exceeds the price. Fresh ingredients. Don’t be turned away by the quaintness and quirky decorations, whomever is behind the counter knows how to cook a great breakfast. Breaded French toast was deeeeelicious.

My family ate here on our trip from Denver to Lacey WA. It's a fantastic family owned and run restaurant. We had great breakfasts with great service. Juan and Dora are so friendly and sweet people. If we lived in Yakima, this would be one...of our frequent eateries! Nicely appointed...and the Sea Hawk banner left to some friendly banter with this Broncos family!More

Kind of an odd location that you would only see if you were out looking to buy tile at a warehouse or some other sort of industrial errand. But once you get inside it is friendly and cozy. I would not drive too far to...eat here, but if I was in the neighborhood for breakfast I would stop in here again for some more eggs benedict or try something else.More
