Looking for something different driving through Yakima, and this place was perfect! Loved the variety of hot dog toppings, and the hot dogs were so good! Quick bite to eat and back on the road Definitely will be back next trip to the area.

It is nice to see a small downtown eatery focused on hotdogs. These dogs though are not your average run-of-the-mill boiled wienies either. My daughter sent me a heads up on Facebook that Winey Dogs had come out with something named "The Tacoma Dog." Having grown up in Tacoma I needed to try one of these. My wife and I showed up about 1:00 PM and ordered a pair of them along with coleslaw, chips, pop, and even some spoon cornbread. The dogs (which have somehow been infused with a bit of wine) were dellicious, but I'm not sure exactly what the point of the infusion is, as my German sausage tasted just I had expected it to taste. Maybe it serves to keep the dog juicy as it cooks. A bit of cream cheese, plenty of bacom bits, a few cherry tomatoes, and a red sauce topped with coarsely grated cheddar cheese and served on a picnic sized roll. Everything was tasty and the server was pleasant, albeit a bit rushed due to a crew shortage. So, we had to wait ten minutes or so. It was well worth it. Cost with tax was $20.00. It might seem a tad high for "hotdogs", but these are extra large and very tasty. It's a local Yakima establishment, and we like it!

Finally went to Winey Dogs for lunch. This place is known for its toppings. You get to choose several types of hot dogs themselves, i.e. German, Turkey, beef, veggie, etc. I had a German sausage dog. It was what I would expect. Not outstanding, but a good dog. Looked at what the other customers were getting. The hot dogs appeared to be pretty standard fare. The dogs came on a nice bun. Both the dogs and the bun could be a lot better if they were grilled. The big draw for this place is the variety of deluxe and well prepared toppings. A lot of their toppings are prepared with wine. They offer about 16 different toppings for the dogs. They also have baked potatoes with toppings. Outside of the fancy toppings and dogs this is a pretty basic place. They offer bags of chips and a "salad of the day." The soda comes in cans. I only gave them 4 stars. If the dogs and buns were grilled and a little better quality or the prices were slightly lower I would give them 5 stars. Having said this, I enjoyed what I got and will go back again to try some of the other offerings.
