I had the Chipotle chicken sandwich with a side salad. My husband had the Irishman with elk. Both entrees were delicious and I would like to try some of the others too. The restaurant was busy and crowded, so I knew it would take extra...time for our meal to arrive. We are looking forward to visiting here in the future.More

We were looking forward to visiting here and were not disappointed, it was a great place to taste beer and the food was great. It’s not a place you’d just stumble upon, it’s a destination brewery you’d plan on going to and be glad you...did. Be sure you plan on a trip here.More

This place takes the award for out-of-the-way charm. We enjoy taking friends who've not been here. The IPAs are great, and the food is good too. I particularly enjoy the Reuben sandwich, but the burgers are tasty as well. Great place to stop by for...a beer after a walk on the dike in William Clark Park.More

Visited for lunch and a beer before our annual Christmas tree cutting adventure. Follow your GPS to get here because it's a bit off the beaten path, which is kind of nice. Not a fancy place, but exactly what I like in a brewery restaurant....Great beer. The food was also really good, and came in large proportions. I'll definitely go back. I was so pleased with my visit that their window sticker is now on my truck in the "rotating sticker" positron (another sticker will replace it in 6-10 months).More

Great service, beer, atmosphere and love their Rueben sandwich. Love the outdoor area at the end of the building.

Yup - it's a brewery - you can look through the windows and see the vats. Even so, a very comfortable feel in the wood-lined pub with a fireplace on one wall and an industrial feel overall. Sort of an interesting juxtaposition - but it...works. The local Lotus car group met there for a nice lunch - the guys who drink beer told me it was good. I can say the water was excellent, as was the blackened rockfish sandwich. My wife had a veggy burger that was also good. So, good food, good beer and a really neat setting!More

Stopped in for a late lunch on the sunny patio. Service was great and friendly. We enjoyed the veggie burger, fries and salad. It's just outside of town in an industrial area which was quiet on the weekend.

We went to 54/40 for some IPA and Food. They have nice comfort food menu and their beer was outstanding. They are located in a large industrial building and are located in two different sections of the buillding. One houses the brewery and indoor seating...and the other is outside, has a shortened beer list and has seating and corn hole boards. It is a great setting and they do a fantastic job. Their IPAs were good and they are family friendly.More

Loud, noisy, and pub food. Food and fun for the whole family or clan or team or couple. You won't write home about the food, but it's filling pub fare, and decent brews.

Stopped in this brewery for a little bite to eat one Saturday afternoon. The Brew was really great if course and we both just had some wings and an order of the poutine. The wings were very flavorful and the poutine had plenty of toppings....The brewery doesn't have it's own kitchen, like many of the brewery food set ups, the food is cooked in a good truck set up. You order food and drink at the bar and they give you a number. Then when you want a refill then you belly up to the bar. The place is definitely off the beaten path.... You kind of have to get wind of it's existence. But it was really pretty busy and they even had to open up the other room for new guests. Will come back for trivia night for sure. Family friendly too.More

This is an excellent brew pub. We like that they offer some German style brews and others. Too many places have IPA dominated menus. We love the salads and pretzels. It is in an industrial area, but the outside deck is fun on nice days.

We like to explore craft breweries and appreciate it when we can combine a meal with a tasting. 54 40 provides both. It is an order at the counter sort of place with friendly helpful staff. They have a nice selection of beers (and some...non-beers) and foods. We had a delightful lunch experience with very good food and beer to match. It wasn't too busy while we were there making the noise level low and good for conversation. It would be worth a trip to 54 40 for lunch if in the area.More
