Ate here on a Saturday at about 1:00pm. Called ahead and they were getting people seated quickly, but food was going to take about a half hour. Not a prob for us. I walked right in, ordered at the cash register, grabbed a cup and helped myself to some great coffee. Sat down and the food arrived in about 10... More

The pancakes at Shakbrah are dinner plate size and delicious. I wasn't able to eat the whole pancake. The menu specializes in vegetarian and vegan foods. They also serve bacon with breakfast. If you go on a Saturday, you can't be in a hurry. On the Saturday we went, it was packed. Once we were seated and ordered, the wait... More

The food is great and they have some of the typical options but also a large variety of stuff that is unique that you won't find on every other diner menu. I haven't eaten a pancake personally, but they are huge, like 14 inches in diameter, and seem to be a hit at $4.50. I had the corned beef hash... More

When you enter Shakbrah you have two choices, self-serve or wait to be seated. Weekends are packed so you could wait a long time either way. Menus are at the counter for self serve. Find a table , choose your food (pancakes are bigger than a standard sized dinner plate), order at the register, wait to be served. Remember to... More

In town for a graduation of student of UPS, and she brought us here. You can sit down and be waited on, or as student suggested, place your order for faster service, which we did. Food is good, competent and was up fast. Coffee self serve and good. I have no complaints. Reasonably priced, hippie chic ambience was pleasant and... More

After all the reviews, I was expecting something equal or better to Kelly's Breakfast joint in Gig Harbor and decided to take my Uncle from Australia for a treat. It was noisy, crowded, and they don't allow parties to sit at a table unless they're all together. That's ok but when the only reason the party isn't together is because... More

Well I have walked by this place on my way to Legendary Doughnuts and it always looks busy. So I was in Tacoma this morning and thought I would give this breakfast hot spot a try. The service and feel of the place were fantastic the breakfast nothing special the link sausages were not good looked like the cheap little... More

Going out for breakfast is my favorite dining experience. There are many good choices in the Tacoma area, but this is one of the best. First, I like the atmosphere. Growing up in the area, this building was once a florist shop I often used buying flowers for proms and special occasions, so there is that nostalgia. The wait staff... More

Went for breakfast and was very disappointed. Service was nonexistent as we waited a very long time for someone to take our order and for our food to arrive. While we were waiting for someone to take our order, the boy who brought us water along with his “colleagues” were standing around either talking with each other or texting on... More

It has the feeling of a hippie joint from the seventies but definitely of this century. Mismatched chairs but great food. We love their huge pancakes with blueberries. These barely fit on the plate. I haven't been able to finish one yet. They are known for their great potatoes with choices of toppings but everything is great. Lots of food... More
