My son and I got double cheese burgers with onion rings. The burgers were great, the right balance of acidity, salt and sauce. We like burgers, so we try out places. We'll definitely go back when we are in Tacoma.
Been going to Frisco for over 50 years, have sent several people there including my kids and grand kids. Moved away one year ago, drove 150 miles to get a fix of a double cheese Burger from Frisco. What a disappointment total garbage. My burger...had maybe 6 pieces of onion on it and a but load of ketchup . I also bought one my accountant, when she opened it up after my warning we found one (1) little piece of onion and a but load of ketchup. After 50+ years of awesome burgers I'm done with Frisco. What a shame.More
Picked up food for four at 1pm on a weekday. We ordered burgers and fish and chips. All were cooked well. (I really liked the diced onions on the burgers). The fish was good quality and well cooked as well. We also got Strawberry shakes,...and they were very tasty,
Service was slow. There was no place to sit while waiting. To top it off, they didn't give me all the food I ordered, and I had to go back to get the remaining items.More
This old-fashioned drive-in burger stand is a Tacoma landmark. I ate here nearly every night when I worked the swing shift in Tacoma over 30 years ago. We stopped in there a few weeks ago and the place looked the same, the line of people...waiting for their orders was just as long. The simple, delicious burgers and fresh ‘hot’ fries were just as good. Frisko Freeze is on my short list of great old-fashioned burger joints. I’ll have to make it a point to go there more often.More
Never figured out why they named a Burger Joint Frisco freeze. Maybe they used to have icy cold shakes or frozen dessert or something. I don't know. It's a Tacoma icon and locals Rave about the place. But my opinion doesn't have very good burgers....Summer to Dick's drive-ins in Seattle. 1960s imitation want to be McDonald's cheeseburgers. The only difference is the secret sauce. Stop by to say you've been there and then continue on down the road to something betterMore
I go to ANY mom-n-pop burger joint I come across in my travels. I heard from a long time Tacoma resident Frisko Freeze is the best burger in Tacoma, so I had to go.
Frisko Freeze is a Tacoma landmark, tradition & institution but the...burgers are expensive for what you get in 2020.
If you are a Seattleite imagine paying 4.80 for a Deluxe from Dicks. The Double Cheeseburger from Frisko Freeze is a Dicks Deluxe, basically.
Actually Frisko Freeze has been around longer than Dicks 1950 vs 1955 so...
The CheeseBurger at Frisko Freeze is 4.20 just imagine a Deluxe with one less patty.
At Dicks they are 2.00 without the lettuce and tarter.
I was surprised there were so many people there to be honest.
The milk shakes were priced fair, thick and tasty. They don't make their own fries like Dicks but they are good.
Fridko Freeze is great but I can't help think they are gouging their loyal customers.More
Frisko Freeze has been around more years that I care to consider. It's one of the most traditional burger joints in the Northwest. But as of late, one has to wait over a half hour for a meal. I was there Sunday evening, placed my...order at 8:03 and picked it up at 8:45. I ordered a burger, fries and a shake. Others were complaining as well. The girl behind the counter said that it could be a half hour to one couple. That's absurd!! We had a similar wait a month ago as well. The girl working the grill worked at a pace that was not efficient or quick. I know, because I used to work at a burger place when I was young. When you finally get your food, you'll enjoy it.More
We stopped here for burgers, shakes and fries while visiting a newborn at Tacoma General and found the burgers to be great, the fries equally so and the shakes and malts okay but not outstanding. The burgers are a great deal and you want to...upsize as a double cheeseburger, which is two cheese and two hamburger patties is only 50 cents more than a single cheeseburger. Malts are only ten cents more than shakes and large shakes and malts are a bargain at 15 cents more than regular. The only reason give four stars as opposed to five is the strawberry malt I got was not strawberry enough for me although it was thick, rich and creamy. Highly recommended !More
