We took our son to Over the Moon for dinner the night we left him in Tacoma to start college at University of Puget Sound. Our food was amazing -- beautifully prepared, delicious, ample servings. The little secreted away bistro can be hard to find, but it's well worth looking. Don't miss the fantastically decorated back hallway and bathrooms!

This restaurant is tucked away in a beautiful little street called Opera Alley. It's become a Tacoma standard. It's perfect for the small business meeting as well as a celebration or intimate evening. Lunch or dinner are divine. The dishes all have a European, mostly country French inspired take with crusty breads, Gruyere cheese, and warm stew-like soups. The salads... More

Took wife and son here for last dinner before going to college. It is a funky place in an interesting area. The restaurant itself is in what was the original opera house building. Area is an old part of downtown Tacoma that seems to be gradually getting revitalized. Lots of interesting antique stores and coffee shops nearby. Would like to... More

While visiting Tacoma on vacation this past week I discovered this gem. Uncharacteristically for me, I went back twice! It is that good!! It is beyond good, it is fabulous! The proprietor and her team work magic is this delightfully intimate little place! The Food: Ordered the "Croutes de Fromage" the first evening, as an appetizer, and the portion was... More

If I had anything other than a sandwich here, I might well give it five stars. Somehow, a lunch that consists of a Cuban sandwich for me and a French Dip for my wife doesn't indicate how good a place can be. However, those sandwiches, and the accompanying potato salad were certainly excellent, as was the service. The ambiance was... More

Hadn't been here for a few years. The food was outstanding and the service and atmosphere were perfect. Not sure which was our favorite dish but we absolutely loved the Croutes de Fromage – Gruyere cheese melted between slices of artisan sourdough bread soaked in a sweet white wine sauce. apricot marmalade. truly amazing like a grilled cheese on crack... I have eaten here and written a review previously, but recently had diner there again with friends. The menu has expanded and the new additions did not disappoint. By all means enjoy the great food, service, and atmosphere at Over the Moon.

Had dinner at "Over the Moon Cafe" and enjoyed it again. 3 years, when we were in the Seattle/Tacoma area, we expirienced this Restaurant for the very first time and we enjoyed Food, Service and atmosphere. Last Friday, we went there again and we experienced the same high standard. Absolut awesome dinner experience. Wonderful place for a relaxed dinner.

The restaurant is located in an alley. It is decorated with heavy drapes, quaint light and lamps and tapestry. It's great for a lunch with the gals or a romantic date. The soup, salads and sandwiches are over the top. The desserts were amazing. Any time I'm downtown and hungry I stop in and relax and enjoy the atmosphere and... More
