Business usually has my son and I vending in a nearby hotel on Valentines Day. We always assemble a group of other vendors that are away from their spouses as well and have an enjoyable evening at Galanda Thai Cuisine. We return here every year...as the food and service are great and everyone can find something to their liking. We are a varied group from all across the country with a couple vegetarians as well and everyone enjoys the food and coming here. The place is always busy on Valentines Day. Other times you can usually get in with a short wait.More
Busy Saturday night at 6 pm. But everyone worked hard to seat, serve, clear, pay. Shared the salad with cabbage, pork and fresh herbs and veggies with a lime fish sauce dressing. Drunken noodles perfect if not too large a portion for one. Pad Thai...also well made with crunchy sprouts. Shared the creamy coconut ice cream. Clean, well run, and great food.More
Fresh flavors, savory lime sauce, glass noodles, just the right amount of heat. This was one of the best lunches ever. I wanted to lick the plate clean. Good service, simple decor, emphasis on the food!
We came here because the restaurant is Zagat rated as one of the best. The 3-Flavor Fish was worthy of going back the next day to have again. This amazing plate comes with a halibut fillet specailly cut so that once deep fried, the fish...sections itself like a mango ready to prepare. It's served on barely steamed beans which are in a wonderful and tasty light sauce with sliced tomatoes. Beautiful and completely remarkable. The other dish we tried was Ginger Wok with chicken. We took an extra order to go it was so good. Several people came in for take out while we were there. Our service was attentive and prompt and certainly with plenty of smiles. Glad I don't live too far from Tacoma!More
Food was excellent and the employees were very friendly and professional. I will be going back soon!
Fantastic noodles and chicken and everything! Best part? You get to pick just how spicy you want your food, from 1 pepper up to 4 peppers! I will definitely go with 4 next time as 3 just didn’t cut it. Amazing place with amazing food....15-20 minute wait, not long at all.More
When one eats out too often, it's easy to forget just another restaurant...but not when it presents food which stands out and is worth remembering. I sensed a commitment by the staff to creating and delivering a super supper to everyone who was in the...room. Somehow, over the years, other Thai restaurants managed to be frequented by myself and my cohorts, but after our last experience we all are admitting amongst our jaded selves that "Galanga's food was good, wasn't it!". And we all agree.More
Had dinner on a Thursday night. Not a lot of diners but steady take out business the whole time. Thai themed decor with basic restaurant furniture. Wasn't greeted upon entry but quickly was brought water and menu. Service turned out to be excellent. Started with...spring rolls that were fresh so they were very hot, so broke them up with the chopsticks to cool. Tasty and crisp with generic chili sauce. Thankfully they had a wonderful chili paste sauce so I could add heat to the dishes. Based on yelp reviews I tried the fried rice instead of my usual pad Thai. I added pork and was a little disappointed that the pork wasn't grilled but just cooked with the rice so a bit blander than it would be with grilling. Vegetables were fresh and the cucumber and cilantro added nice fresh notes. I'm not a fan of pineapple so that wasn't a welcome addition but there weren't that many pieces. I found it very salty, but I add salt to very few things, so I'm sensitive to it. Generous portion so took half home. Very tasty but I would try something else next time. Mango sticky rice was one of the best I've had. Super fresh and sweetly ripe mango, both black and white rice with wonderful sweet sauce. Savored every bite, a must have if you even remotely like sticky sweet deliciousnessMore
Probably the best beef panang curry in the City. Always fresh, plenty of beef ... some places are heavy on the sauce and peppers and not much else .... have been going for years ... food never disappoints.
