1st visit to the new location

Our first visit since the move...as usual parking can be an issue and the new site seemed noisier. The same great food and service though. We eat there on annual visits to Tacoma/University Place. Primo has moved to larger but noiser, busier space. We sat at the counter facing the grill. Fascinating. Anything on polenta is excellent, as are glazed pork chops.I tend to repeat rather than venture. Others say their food is equally good. Desserts are just as well done and I don't have... More

Had a great meal here with friends. Pasta dishes are imaginative with high quality ingredients. Local sources for everything is an emphasis and creative recipes are the norm. Not a place to go if you are on a budget however. Service is attentive and skillful and both owners are on site. Full bar with craft cocktails plus nice wine list.

Small menu that plays to it's strengths of a pizza oven and local sourcing. Plus seasonal options like pumpkin sage ravioli. Also hosts wine dinners so has access to unique PNW wineries on their list and by the glass. Parking is a challenge as is the noise if you want to visit with those at your table. Try the appetizers.... More

Family friendly smaller restaurant. Informal atmosphere. Seems to be in busy neighborhood. Menu was interesting but not extensive. Variety of selections from pizza to seafood bouillabaisse. Food was well prepared and served leisurely. Waiters were helpful and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and would come back again.

Sadly, this new Primo Grill is not as classy or distinctive as it was in its former location down the street. It's fun and seems to be catering to more of a bar crowd. The service was friendly and fine; however, the food was just average. The main complaint was the hostess who was dressed so sloppily, she was unrecognizable... More

My husband and I were actually headed somewhere else, but decided to stop in here just to check it out. We started with a beer and appetizer. It was clean, bright, had some large open windows, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The app was their calamari. It was delicious! The only complaint is that I wished for a... More

I was frustrated to find out the pub I told my friends to meet me at is now closed on Sundays. I saw the sign for Primo Grill next door and decided to give it a try. I looked it up on Trip Advisor after we were seated and was pleased with the reviews. The wait staff provides top notch... More

Friendliest staff in Tacoma. Great variety of food from fresh made pasta to fresh caught fish. Signature ribeye was a little too grizzled on this day, but the salmon was great. Wonderful server went over all the gluten free options and kept the water glasses full all night. Two sides of the building had large garage door like windows that... More
