Hoist amid history. Phenomenal atmosphere and warmly welcoming staff. Great food that's a real step up from traditional pub fare. Great memorabilia in every nook and cranny. Got a personal tour by original owner Jack, a great guy with a real passion for his collections,...historical elements and outstanding food. A "must see" for a true Tacoma experience.More

Sometimes you're looking for just good food. That's what you get at Swiss. Always get the hummus with warm, chewy pita bread. The Swiss specialty items - all good.

Not great, just ok food, the service was slow and not friendly. The building was historic and nice, though.

The fish & chips were good, and the fries nicely done - crisp. The burger would have been good, except for the bread, which was bone dry (not stale) and continued to shred, not to mention it's overall objectionable texture.

Definitely an amazing place to have a drink and eat good food. Met a group of friends here, my first time here. The only thing they charge $10 to get in, I suppose for the band but I think if people actually have dinner reservations...it should be discounted. I had the mac and cheese, really delicious. Had my first dirty Shirley! The drinks are priced low. Thanks!More

Having heard about The Swiss before, decided to give it a try on a recent trip to Tacoma. We were fortunate enough to meet a very long time staffer, who gave us a fairly detailed history of the building, owners, and staff. Although it wasn't...particularly busy, service was a tad slow; but we weren't in a hurry. Our food was very good, especially the fried oysters I ordered. The shellfish were plump, cooked perfectly, and there were more than I'm accustomed to being served.More

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. We had lunch on a lazy Saturday and sat just outside. It wasn’t crowded at all, but then again it’s a huge place with 3 sections. My wife had a Ruben and I had...the cauliflower appetizer. The Ruben was excellent, but the Cauliflower was a bit over cooked and over breaded. My fault though, I thought it was going to be more along the lines of hot wing style, but I did not read enough of the menu. All in all it was really pleasant, good selection of beer, good service and cool place.More

We checked out this place for dinner and drinks while staying in Tacoma. Cool friendly vibe and definitely unique. Service was very good and accommodating for our party of five. Good prices and dang good food -- I had the fish and chips and there...was plenty of it. Someone had the Reuben and said it was among the best ever. Pro tip -- Wednesday night 10% off for our military. I had to have a t-shirt. Go!More

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat as we had a long drive ahead of us. Lots of options for everyone, and the food was very good. Shared the French dip and it was plenty for 2 of us. Burgers looked the best. Staff...was very helpful and friendly but seemed to have a lot of tables to take care of.More
