Oh, my goodness! What a wonderful meal we had at The Buttered Biscuit! Our sodas were served in large mason glasses. My meal came first with a "wilted" salad which was lettuce with warm bacon and grilled onions in a delicious dressing. Dinner meals come with a huge piece of warm corn bread with a sugar/butter topping. It was like... More

Floors were dirty, flies harassed us during our entire meal, paint on the windows, silverware looked like it came from McNeil Island Pen, corned beef hash was burned, waffle was made from pancake batter, Corn bread had a nasty aftertaste. Pros: ummm, the waitress was nice and compt our hash. two coffees, side of bacon, side of eggs, and a... More

Nice diner w good ole home-style cooking. We went for breakfast, took the advice of other reviews & didn't feel like waiting in a long line ,so were the first ones there~6:15am, but not long after ppl started coming in. Before 7 rolled around, some ppl were waiting for the remainder of their party of 12 to join them. Cornbread-... More

Great huge plates of food. The menu has classics but so many different things that you don't see anywhere else, it was hard to decide what to get. the service is wonderful. It's an eclectic mix of furniture, chairs and tables. The cornbread is awesome.

Had some time to kill while in Sumner one Monday morning and wandered into The Buttered Biscuit. There was one young kid cooking and waiting tables. My hats of to his great service and food. He brought my meal within minutes and came back several times to check on me. For once I didn't mind tipping because he was working... More

Such a good place to eat! Was just fascinated by the town of Sumner and was taken with this restaurant. Menu had excellent choices and the staff was very friendly. Very large portion for the money. Be sure to walk down the Main Street for shopping in some of the great little stores...

The steak was mostly gristle and fat, very tough. Although, a couple of weeks ago I had the shrimp cheesy grits...fantastic! The first visit had a good server and a great bloody mary. The second server was terrible, I'd be surprised if he's still working there. Many drinks on the menu are not available at this location, I wonder why... More

Place is over priced for breakfast anyway. I had eggs Benedict and potatoes and tea 16.54 for breakfast is too much and at that price the potatoes were not fresh but out of a box like fast food .

Good food and plenty of it. Had breakfast there a number of times. Always have to take some home. The cornbread is a big favorite. Recommend for good breakfast and dinner.

From the outside, The Buttered Biscuit in Sumner isn't much to look at. Sure, it's easy to find, has ample parking and has convenient hours but you won't be wowed. then you'll go in and still you won't be wowed. Then they'll start serving your food and without a doubt you'll be wowed! Huge portions of classic breakfast fare served... More
