Was at the downtown Spokane location for breakfast on a Sun. morning and was this place packed. The business is in a very old railroad passenger car and space is tight but they make it work. Enter the end door and find the Maître d' to let know how many in your party. Wait time was anywhere from 30 mins. to 1 hr. 30 mins. but that's for a Sun. morning. They'll ask for a cell phone number so they can notify you when booth or counter seat is ready. If you happen to be outside waiting having some of their free coffee or water, an employee will even come out and call your name should you have not responded to your cell phone notification. Had the Conductor's Derailer made up of French Toast, Bacon, Eggs, and Hashbrowns. Lots to eat and you won't go away hungry. If you're in Spokane, you should at least stop here once.

Frank's Diner in Spokane offers a classic diner experience with a cozy atmosphere and very friendly service. Try the cinnamon French toast! Folks definitely come for the nostalgic vibe and the beautiful interior. Overall, Frank's Diner is a delightful place for comfort food and a warm welcome. Due to the small space, expect a longer wait time but it’s worth it! They have a convenient system set up to text you when your table is ready.

Fascinating location and exceptional food. For the entire duration of the meal you can't help but look around, the place is so well looked after. Choosing a dish or a drink costs an average of €30 per person, but it's worth it both for the quality of the food and for the place you are in.

If you're from Texas, and know what a chicken fried steak is supposed to be, I recommend you order ANYTHING else on the menu. It's not a chicken fried steak. It's a chicken fried patty of finely ground steak. The consistency is horrible, and the flavor is nonexistent. Hands down, the worst chicken fried steak this ex-texan ever had. I told them they should rename the dish, and call it chicken fried beef patty. To which they responded, "most chicken fried steaks are ground steak". Which is true, if you're purchasing a tv dinner for under $6. But if the menu says steak, and the price exceeds $20, you should be ashamed of yourself foe serving a breaded patty. I could have been any more dissapointed in the food. The service was great, which is why it gets any stars at all.

Food was very good, customer service as well was good. Cannot complain about that. Atmosphere is charming when first stepping inside. But quickly changes as your waiting to be seated. Smallness of a diner built from a railroad car is quickly obvious. CRAMPED. Was there on a Friday morning about 9:00am. Parking lot full and almost impossible to park. Inside, over-crowded, packed and cramped. No tables available for two of us. Waited 15 minutes for two seats at the bar. Elbows and feet cramped in due to the strangers seated on either side of us. Almost got to know them a little too well. Really cloister phobic uncomfortableness. Ate fast so we could get out. I’ve learned there is something worse than 3rd class seating on a booked long haul airliner. It’s the seating inside Frank’s Diner. I thought they were way over priced. $80 (before 15% tip) for two people. Together we ordered chicken fried steak with hash browns / gravy & eggs, sausage with hash browns, a side cinnamon waffle, a side order of fried green tomato (3 slices). Now we ordered 2 large brunch like breakfasts. But seriously, $40 per person for brunch?!! I could have gotten a full prime rib dinner in the Davenport Hotel for that. I know, I have. Like I said, the food was very good. The waitress that served us was also very good. It’s the cloister phobic atmosphere that ruined it. The the low earth orbital prices just topped off the breakfast. Will not be going there again for theses reasons.

While visiting North Spokane, we found the newest Franks Diner on Newport Highway. Luckily we were early enough to get a seat right away. It was fun looking over the many items on the menu, but made the decision of what to order a bit difficult because everything sounded delicious. We had fun looking at all the decor on the train car, and it helped to read the history about it. Our server was very attentive, and very friendly and fun. As with all restaurants, prices have gone up over the last couple of years, but we don't mind paying when we have good food and service. It's a good thing we didn't order a pancake to go with our omelets, because you do get quite a lot of food. We did, however, buy the pancake mix to take home and make for ourselves.

Went for Breakfast and Lunch so got to try alittle bit of everything. There is going to be a wait but they offered free water and coffee while you wait so that was nice. The place is small cause its a train car but is so well put together and decor was amazing. It was fun seeing what it looked like back in the day and what is looks like now. Lunch was really good. Good sizes good prices. Breakfast was cold and it seemed like they had a hard time keeping up. Overall a fun place to eat at and I would go back.

I’ve been eating here for over 20 years. I ordered eggs Benedict. Super thin slice cheap ham the bread wasn’t cooked and the hash row s barely cooked. One of the servers waiting on the tables didn’t wash his hands before putting someone’s toast in. All this for a whopping $17. This place has gone seriously downhill. Last visit me and my daughter had brek there $64. The food definitely wasn’t worth it that time either. I’m not sure I will ever go back

We came through Spokane and had a late lunch at Frank's...like always, when we come through. The menu is huge and it is always hard to make a choice. Since they serve breakfast all day, you can order breakfast and have French fries on the side, instead of hash browns, which I love to do. Can't remember what we had, but everything is always good. We will keep coming back.

Service was absolutely impeccable. Although we had to wait five minutes, there is fresh coffee served to us in the waiting area outside, which I may add, was heated. An absolutely exceptional dining atmosphere on a retired train cart. Would highly recommend if you are a foodie, I had the wild boar eggs, Benedict and my husband had the creole eggs Benedict. Both were a 10 out of 10 and we shared a cinnamon waffle.

My family and I went for breakfast, the wait of about 40 minutes was a little long, but it was worth it, delicious food and it’s large portions for you to take into account, I was a little distracted and I forgot my wallet in the seat. When a waitress came to the car, she talked to me, she ran after me to give her to me, I really appreciate honesty. It was a small wallet that could easily be lost. She decided to reach me to deliver it, in short, good food, good service, unique place and honesty above all.

We came on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, right at lunchtime and opted to wait for a table (yes, it was a long wait, but we were prepared for it). Melissa, our server could not have been nicer and was always smiling, happy and checking on us! We had the Turkey (all white meat, which we like) dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy and broccoli and The Works omelet; both were very good! After 20 years, I finally bought my Frank's Diner t-shirt

First off. The food and staff are 5 stars. However Austin the GM. Please read. My team and I travel for work and since we've been in spokane, we've dined at franks (all 20 of us) more times than I can count (Andrea can vouch), and today 4/22/2023 will be the last day we dine here. Austin's perhaps subconscious treatment of us reminded me how far we've come but also how much further we have to go as black people in America. My friend and I came in around 3pm and the restaurant was pretty empty only 4 people sitting at the bar seating and a couple occupied booths. Not only were we not greeted (even though noticed) for atleast 5 min, but we were also sat in the very back 2 person booth next to the employee depot/bathroom. Call me sensitive but that doesn't sit well with me and shouldn't have happened in an empty restaurant. I asked to be sat in our usual seating area at the bar and there I continued to watch austin treat every patron after us with acknowledgement and respect. By the time we left all of the booths were occupied in exception of the booths offered to us and I can't help but ask why we were given such undesirable seats especially in an empty restaurant. We will not be returning and will let the rest of our coworkers know, but in the future Austin when you have the ability to not make a black person feel like it's 1960, I implore you to jump on the opportunity.

I really love this place. It was our second time there. I would lean toward excellent, but my husband restrained me so we'll go with very good leaning toward excellent. Breakfasts are definitely above average. I had a ground elk steak with eggs. Instead of toast you can get biscuit fried on the grill. A really expansive and distinctive menu. We'll go back when in Spokane. The train car is cool. Very good service.
