The meals are always so good. We don’t live in the Spokane area but this is our favorite restaurant to visit.

I know the restaurant industry has been hit hard by Covid and things aren’t as they have been in the past. This restaurant not only had that obstacle but also had to relocate after a fire. I have been to another hibachi grill in another...state but Mickey our chef had better cooking skills and was more entertaining than the ones in the other state. The food was good and the portions weren’t as overwhelmingly big as other restaurants. I would say it’s worth it for the entertainment value and the food.More
We arrived for our reservation within the 10 minute grace window allowed. We were only 5 minutes past 6 pm. The hostess was very unfriendly and ungracious. I was visiting from Colorado with my daughter and two grandchildren. We went to dinner straight from a...movie. The hostess said you weren’t here, we”ll try to fit you in. We apologized and mentioned their reservations gave a 10 minute window. She said well we’re still seating 6:00 reservations. Without telling us, she moved us to 6:30 reservations which my daughter found out 30 minutes later when we would be seated. Again, the hostess was very rude. The restaurant was not clean and there were dead flies all along the windowsill in the waiting area. The children were getting very restless and hungry. My daughter asked one more time 50 minutes after our arrival, after witnessing others who got there after us being seated before our family. Again, RUDE treatment. The hostess never once smiled. We left and will NEVER return. Other parties also walked out.More
First, it’s in a cold warehouse. Had reservations, that didn’t matter we waited over an hour anyway. Then we Waited 45 minutes to even have our order taken!!!!! There were kids running around screaming. The food, let’s just say you don’t go for the flavor....It’s more for entertainment for children. Unfortunately, my adult son wanted to go there for his birthday. If he asks next year, I will absolutely say no. Definitely a wasted expensive evening.More
I have been to the Spokane Valley Shogun several times personally and twice with my company and the food and show was amazing each time. Great staff and very clean place. I would recommend.
Me and my husband went in for our 35th anniversary and the food was wonderful. Our server was very kind and polite. Our chef put on the best show I have ever had,I have been going to shogun for many years.
My family visited for a birthday celebration. The service was exceptional, our server and chef were hilarious. The chef made everything to perfection and taste fabulous. It was my sons first time at the shogun and he has now requested all his birthdays to be taken...place at the shogun.Thank you Anne and Ryan.More
I come here ever year for my birthday and I have great servers all the employees are very friendly and I feel like I'm welcome everytime I come here and the food is always great
Had been a birthday mainstay for our family since I was a child and I am 50 now. Every year since they moved to valley it has become worse and worse. This time took the cake and we, 35 year customers, will never be back....Party of 16 booked three weeks out. Two waitresses and two cooks - normal. That’s where it ends. Instead of feeding us close to each other the other table got their soup and cook started cooking before our table even had our order taken. First table was served their salad after cook was placing vegetables on plates. We JUST now order and remind our waitress we are all together. Other table cook drops half the shrimp and two scallops on floor and doesn’t go get replacement even after lady with scallops mentioned to him. He didn’t even acknowledge and kept cooking. He then leaves and 30 min later our cook finally comes out. YES 30 minutes after they were done eating. I order filet mignon and they brought out a sirloin. Even after I said something the cook didn’t even acknowledge. Ran out of vegetables before getting everyone served. GETS WORSE obvious new cook under cooked shrimp and overcooks every steak. Waitress never cleared plates so our party who was done eating started taking them away fro us. Doesn’t stop there but enough said. You get it. Total cluster. WILL NEVER GO BACK. I see all the negative reviews and now get it. Sad Day for our family.More
Fraudulent charges and tip amount! This business changes tip amounts! Horrible will never again support your business
We went to Shogun in the Spokane Valley two nights before Covid 19 lockdown (again) to celebrate our Granddaughter’s 11th Birthday. It was great...we had reservations and walked right into our table. Travis was the chef and he did an outstanding job of cooking, chopping,...and cleaning up the griddle....He paid special attention to the “Birthday Girl”.....the service, food and mood was all good. It was so clean and hand sanitizer and masks were in abundance...More
We come through Spokane at least twice a year when we travel to Oregon to see family. Shogun is always a must. Last year they were not open yet from the fire. But they are this year. We called, did not get an answer, so...were on our way anyway to see if it was open. Low and behold, the hostess called back to see if she could help. We said we'd like to eat, she said what time, we said in 5 minutes. She was waiting for us as we arrived. She was so kind and even gave is a mini tour of the new restaurant. Then we made our dinner choices and Ethan our cook arrived. He was amazing. The most entertaining chef we have had and did everything to make us extra happy. Shogun has maintained their personal touch, excellent food, and even most of the decor from the old building. You should definitely give them a try. Or come back again. You won't be sorry. Best Japanese food in all of the Northwest.More
We come to shogun alot, and its always been great food & great service. But tonight we got rushed through due to a large 20+ group that came in. Food was still good, but no friendliness hardly at all! We travel all over the usa...3ating at alot of Japanse restaurants, and never had service this bad because of a large group. And you can see the rest of the place is empty, their was only 1 other table in the main lobby!!More
we waited one and a half hours only to be told our table would be ready soon. they told us that we would be seated at 7:15 and at 7:30 i asked and they said that they were "working" on it. Me and my family...waited and watched 8 other families be seated and again at 8:00 we asked again and we given the same answer. we would have left sooner but we know that the food is good and thought it would be worth the wait. we were wrong. at 8:45 we left angry and hungry.More
We did not even get the chance to eat!!! We made a reservation an hour before then we got there and an hour went by. We checked and they said they did not know when we were going to be able to eat, 30 minutes...later they said they didn't know still when we were going to eat. So I left with my 4 kids grumpy and Hungry. DO NOT RECOMMENDMore
