I have been a customer of the Mizuna for many years, starting way back when the opened as a vegetarian restaurant through to as recently as a week and a half ago. There are two menus, for the vegetarian and for those with broader dietary preferences. The food is consistently good, from either menu. The wine is excellent and the... More

We went on Valentine's day, so maybe they were too busy or something, or having an off-night, but our food was pretty bad. My husband ordered the filet mignon special ($50). The mashed potatoes were seasoned very odd, and had a bitter flavor (and were very cold). The steak was cold (and rare even though he ordered medium). The asparagus... More

We came here for lunch a while back when we came to town for the Apple store around the corner...it was surprisingly good (local dining seems pretty limited), so we decided to come back for dinner when staying overnight at the nearby Historic Davenport. So glad we did! Mizuna offers two entirely separate menus--one vegetarian, one not--plus a very interesting... More

This was my second visit. First was excellent, but this was disappointing because of the food. At $14.95 the Kobe burger is higher priced but was described as "Cooked to Order" with brie and carmelized onions. I ordered it medium and it was so over cooked as to be flavorless and barely edible. It made me long for an In... More

We ate on a Sunday afternoon after a show downtown. I went with my two (teenage) children. The atmosphere was lovely and service excellent. The menu was fairly simple and uncomplicated, with dishes that highlight the food, not overdone sauces, etc. my daughter had the salmon special and it was the best salmon either of us have ever had. I... More

It was a cold snowy evening, but Mizuna is warm and comfy, and to prevent drafts when folks exit or enter, they have hung a "tapestry" which works very well. Service is relaxed, friendly and professional. We brought a 2007 Oregon Pinot, and we were provided Ridel Burgundy glasses, the great ones with the rim canted outward. Little touches make... More

Reasonably priced, varied menu. Caters to all - vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. Good service. Bridges the gap between family and fine dining. We started with an outstanding smoked trout bruschetta with pesto. Followed by tasty lentil cakes on a parsnip purée with roasted carrots and Brussels sprouts. If not for the tasty crunch on the outside of the cakes, the... More
