This was a late birthday/early Valentine/happy retirement dinner so we wanted something special. Churchill's delivered. From the black-tie clad waiters, to the presentation and description of the various cuts of meat, everything was professional, elegant and friendly. Our server, Trevor, was a delight and added...a personal touch to our meal. My steak and my husband's lamb chops were delicious. (He said it was the best lamb he'd ever had and we lived in Australia for 3 years, where he ate lamb often.) We appreciated a brief visit by the Executive Chef after we'd had a chance to taste our food. The only thing that could've made it better would have been to be upstairs on the main level. We were seated in the "private dining room" which felt a bit like an afterthought. It was below street level, windowless, and felt like it might've been used for storage, at one point. But the meal and service made it a memorable night.More

Fantastic steak house in the downtown of Spokane. A hole in the wall but with a fantastic selection of meat. The service is great, hostess was friendly with a smile, waiter dress very professional, and even get a visit from the manager. Waiter came in...with a platter of meat, describing from a basic filet to a cowboy steak. Explaining the details how the meat should be prepared to maximize your experience. The mashed potatoes extra cream and snap green peas had a great crunch. Escargot extra garlic if you want to push your palette. Of course finished with a crème brûlée with raspberries. If you like wine they have a great selection. I did not try any this evening. Want to continue on your experience, the have boxes of meat of your choose that can be a great gift for yourself and othersMore

Service is a 5!! Excellent Service - attentive, knowledgeable about the steak cuts, and overall friendly and, most importantly (to me), he knew how to properly serve. Timing was perfect! Our steaks = 5. Perfectly prepared and excellent. I didn’t care for the onions, however,...they did not impact the taste of the steak. Filet, charred and med rare-absolutely perfect. 3 out 4 of us had filets, all prepared differently and they all arrived just as requested. The 4th guest had the sirloin with a side of sea bass and he loved both. 5++ I had Fois Gras and a glass of Sauternes. In Spokane!! For this and the above, we will return and recommend. Our cost/per person = $250. We had appetizers, salads, steaks, sides, cocktails, wine, and desserts. Truly indulged. Ordered desserts to go and they were delicious for 3 days. Chocolate Stack and Coconut Cake. I was not impressed with the clam and corn chowder. All steaks come with mashed potatoes and a seasonal veggie ( green beans), which were ok. Sides: Mac and Cheese, creamed spinach, and corn - excellent. Wedge Salad and Tomato Salad - excellent. Saturday evening. Guests were very casually dressed, including several men sporting ball caps and sneakers. Avoid being seated by the Restroom. It is quite distracting. Churchill’s could close the curtain, potentially, to help with the distraction of people staring at you while waiting for the toilet. You can hear people, too, which is another distraction. Overall, great steakhouse. Street parking.More

If you want the classic steakhouse experience and are willing to pay for it, you will find it here. The service was very good and friendly, and the ambience would have been at home in NYC or Chicago. But there wasn't a steak for less...than $50, and many were much more. The seafood tower was excellent but $150. The winelist was good but limited options less than $100 for reds. Having given you all the caveats, the bone in filet (wet and dry aged) was superb, as were the lamb chops. Everyone enjoyed their meal but be prepared.More

The service is over the top. Prompt, attentive without being overpower. The food was just as good as the service. One of us had the scallops and I had a filet and both were great. We split a shrimp cocktail and it was huge. Some...of the best shrimp I've ever had.More

This place was amazing. Very elegant upstairs. Our waiter Trevor was awesome! Very knowledgeable in all cuts of steak, answered all our questions, and a great sense of humor. It’s a little speedy, but totally worth it. My wife, my daughter and I all got...the filet and we were not disappointed. Great place. Highly recommend.More

The service was exemplary. We dined downstairs next to the bar. LOVED it. Cozy and casual. Always enjoy the upstairs, more formal, but classy. Food was a 10.

In the area of fine dining, this place doesn’t disappoint. Our family set down expecting a nice dinner but everything exceeded our expectations. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the escargot was fantastic. To top it off, the bag dessert at the end was a talking...point of our cross country trip for days. It was nice to not be rushed through our meal and our server treated us as if we were his only table. Even gave us some tips on things to do on the remainder of our trip along the west coast! Great place for a nice meal.More

My god this meal was insanely good . I’m a Hispanic that likes my steak well done , well let’s say they speak my language and it came out perfect . Thankyou . It was a fillet mignon that was tender and cooked beautiful and...done all the way through which never happens for me in any RESTAURANT I visit . I’m traveling through for business and you made my experience wonderful especially for a single diner not knowing what to expect . I was sent to you by the local Davenport hotel and did not have high expectations, you changed that very quickly for me . I also received great service and a huge lesson In steaks as the server offered me that before I ordered which felt more like an education lesson , much appreciated.More

This place came highly recommended, so we went without a reservation. Immediately walking in, we noticed almost every table was vacant. The host - who I am pretty sure was the manager- gave us a snide look and asked if we had reservations. When we...told him no, he put off a vibe of : well your lucky you’re here and then proceeded to tell us the only place he had was a small table by the bar. We love bars, so that was good. We got downstairs - which also had plenty of vacant tables and sat ourselves at the bar. The food we ordered and the drinks were “ok” nothing to write home about for the prices. The bartender had an attitude the size of Texas, as if waiting on us was such a wonderful privilege we were experiencing. All in all I would never recommend this restaurant. The attitudes of the staff that we had were just not something I would go back to, no matter what the food tasted like!More

I was in town with my parents for my master's graduation from Gonzaga on Mother's Day. From what I'd read, this would be a great special occasion restaurant for dinner, especially since my parents enjoy steaks. This was a terrible decision on my part that...I still regret. We got there a little before our 8pm reservation. Most of the tables were empty which I thought was a little strange. The service was pretty bad all around. It was hard to pin down our waiter and a real challenge to get refills. He took away our bread plates when our salads came out (a wedge salad, pretty basic but just awful in execution) and we had to ask for our bread and plates again later. And it was so underwhelming - think frozen yeast rolls from the grocery store served at room temperature. Once our food finally came out, we were all surprised. A small dollop of mashed potatoes and like 7 little snap peas. My parents had ordered their steak medium well and it was super bloody. When my mom pointed this out to the waiter, he recommended my mom eat the ends of the steak which would be more done. Even I was taken aback by that. My dad didn't argue and ate the bloody chunk of cow because he was starving. It was especially disappointing to hear good waiters interact and educate their tables very near us. We felt we really lost out on that experience. I'd heard they had a good signature dessert but we'd had enough of this place and opted to go to Dairy Queen instead. Yes, Dairy Queen for Peanut Buster Parfaits -- and it was the best thing we ate that night. The only time we got attentive service worthy of such a fancy place was when I decided that 20-30 minutes of staring at dirty dishes was enough and I asked the maitre d' to get someone to clear them away. We were swarmed by several waiters in seconds and had a clean table directly. Our waiter was all over us after that, but it didn't make up for the previous 90 minutes. I don't know if I'll make it back to Spokane (although I hope so!), but I do know I will never go here again. I feel like my and my mom's special day was tarnished by our well-meaning failure of a visit here. I knew it was fancy and expensive and expected something like the nationally-famous and celebrated steakhouse in my hometown. I was so wrong. I don't know if it's always like this, if our waiter was a dud, or because we weren't wearing suits and dresses and our finest furs. I wish other potential diners well....but also warn you that you may not get much more than disappointment and a high bill here.More

Churchills was a great experience. The food was amazing and the staff just as wonderful. Enjoyed every moment. If you like steak this is probably the place in Spokane to go. The atmosphere is elegant. They used to have a cigar bar in the basement...but Washington has apparently decided not to allow that anymore. Highly recommendMore

Addendum. Just a thought, December 12 is Holiday Party time for businesses. You may want to dine early rather than later if you are wanting a quiet dinner.
