My husband and I arrived from out of town a little later on a Friday night and it was busy. We were quickly greeted by the owner and a table was set up for us immediately. I ordered the fried oysters and my husband had...More

Thought at first it was one of those fu-fu restaurants with the 'ladies that lunch' type of menu.... But NO! Great hamburger and skinny cut fries and we're going back for pot roast tonight!

We have eaten at the 42nd St Cafe in the past but always for dinner. This trip we managed to stop one day for breakfast & we weren't disappointed. My wife had the waffle which she said was delicious ... to me it looked pretty...More

We stopped here for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. My husband had the jambalaya omelet and I had the smoked salmon hash. Both were very tasty - but the marionberry compote is addictive!

The place was packed, there was only one waitress and the crowd kept coming. Breakfast service was good, food was great. The beignets were very good, the roast beef "hash" was delicious as were the quiches.

The burger was divine and it was a great atmosphere and you also get a free postcard. My friend had razor clams and she loved her meal.

My husband usually responds to good food with an "it's okay". But the 42nd Street Cafe had him over the moon. He almost ordered a 2nd plate of the pot roast which had been cooked for 8 hours. The gravy was incredible. I had the...More
