My girlfriend and I stopped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We were able to sit out in the little courtyard. That outdoor seating area has so much more potential. If they fenced it in, added overhead twinkle lights, and cleared up the chipping paint, it would be a magical little oasis to have beer and good food. And the... More

Good burgers. Friendly server. Would come here again. My son and I both enjoyed our meals. Lively but not chaotic.

We usually came to the Whistle Stop for a brew and dinner, usually meeting up with friends. But this morning we came for breakfast. I had your basic fare of bacon and eggs, and my husband had corned beef hash. My plate was great: perfectly cooked over medium eggs, crispy hash browns with good flavor (maybe they shred their own?),... More

I've dined here several times with various friends. Once it was great, a couple of times okay, and once just not up to par. The great time was a birthday celebration and all three diners enjoyed their entrees. I had a pasta dish that was yummy (sorry, it was a quite a while ago and I don't recall which one,... More

Just ate there this week. Had the New Mexico Burger and it was great! Cook my meat well (as requested), nice kick with jalapenos, and fries were cooked crispy (as requested)

Busy smaller local restaurant, call for reservations if you can. I wanted to go on a Sunday morning and was grateful that I had a reservation. Once seated the service was pretty fast and the French Toast was soft inside with crisp outside served with real maple syrup and honey butter. Tasty fast and overall great dinning experience.

On a whim after a ball game, I really wanted a good hamburger and beer. I found one at the Whistle Stop Ale House. It was just a regular cheeseburger, but darn tasty. You get to pick your cheese, nice little selection. I also had their sweet potato fries, YUM! Hubs had a Gorgonzola burger that he loved and the... More

We went for breakfast as this place was recommended. It has a lot of character inside, a nice old building. The bar was set high for us, one of our favourite things to do, is go for breakfast, we have been to several excellent restaurants. This is not one of them, the food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either.... More

Old World charm may be found in downtown Renton, Washington at the Whistle Stop Ale House. For over one hundred years people have come to this neighborhood next to the railroad tracks to enjoy a pint among friends. Adding to the rustic charm is the cherry wood back bar which traveled to the Alaskan Gold Rush before finding a home in Renton.

Today's brand new Whistle Stop has seventeen rotating taps that feature the finest ales and lagers of the Pacific Northwest and the World. Freshly grilled deli sandwiches are the menu specialty along with soups, salads and appetizers. Swing by for a quick lunch or spend an afternoon, either way the service is always friendly and the beer is always fresh.
