Visited Malay Satay Hut for lunch in May 2021. This restaurant used to be located in Chinatown but now in Redmond. It serves traditional, authentic Malaysian dishes. As a part of COVID preventive measures, no physical menu. Instead, scan the QR code at the table...and order online. Every dish we tried was tasty and traditional. Every year we take a trip to Singapore to visit family and a side perk is we get to eat the wonderful food. Since we won't be visiting this year due to the pandemic, we thought we'd get a taste of Singapore by ordering take...out from Malay Satay Hut. Our meal consisted of a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. We ordered chicken satay, vegetarian Mee Goreng, curry veggies with yellow noodles, and side orders of the Hainanese chicken rice and the Nasi Lemak (coconut) rice. Our food was ready in about 20 mins and it was easy to pick up. You can sit inside but we decided not to. We were satisfied with our meal but the dishes just aren't the same. The chicken satay is good but quite different from satay in Singapore. The chicken on the skewers are a lot thicker so they don't have the same flavor but I guess that is the only way to make it worth the almost $12. We probably will not get that again. The Mee Goreng is the closest to what you get in Singapore in terms of flavor. The curry noodle was decent as were the side orders of rice. Nothing will be what we get in Singapore but we would come back to Malay Satay Hut to get the Mee Goreng and sides of rice when we are homesick for Singaporean food. There are a few other dishes we might try.More

We always need to come back for the Hainan Chicken which is smooth and flavorful. We tried the Seafood Noodles which good also, but doesn't have a strong flavor. Service is polite and prompt. Masks required.

We've been going to Malay Satay Hut for years! The restaurant is mostly consistent with their foods but there were some times where we had a few slip ups including not receiving an order, overpriced bills, poor service, etc. However most of the time, it's...been on point. Don't expect superb service here, come here for the food. Big groups or for couples, here's what our favorite dishes are: Start out with the Roti Canai or Chicken Satay (the price for satay seriously keeps going up and up at this place.... it used to be maybe $8 when we first came here and now it's almost $12) If you are craving soup, wonton noodle soup never goes wrong but I would go for the Curry Laksa instead (and if you want a good kick!) Craving noodles? My go to is always Penang Chow Kueh Teow. I used to also love their chicken rice when I was a kid. But also their Salted Fish Fried rice is another go to dish for me! Big group? Their chili crabs aren't bad (however after trying it in Singapore, everywhere else can not compare). Buddhist Yam Pot, Curry Beef Brisket, Salt and Pepper Pork Chops, and Steamed Tofu are also popular dishes. This is probably the closest you will get to authentic Malaysian food in the Pacific NW. definitely go and try it if you haven't been, it's one of my favorites when I am craving SE Asian food.More

This time, the skin of the Hainan Chicken was succulent. The last time, it was quite dry. The Hokkien Mee was tasty, but the meat was kind of hard.

Authentic malaysian food. The fish head was excellent but the spareribs was a little tough. Would go back. Amble free parking.

I love the Hainan chicken. The Pork chops which were tasty, but could be crisper. Rice was extra, service pleasant and prompt.

We moved recently to redmond and had not seen any restaurants serving Laksas. Finally one day I had a craving and thought there’s got to be a place somewhere. After an initial search found this place not too far from me. So glad I did....The place exceeded my expectations. I had expected just a hole in the wall kind of place but the restaurant was quite big, nicely decorated (going for a Malay hut type of theme) and had an extensive menu that included Singaporean, Malay and some Chinese and Thai dishes. Also a good selection of milk and bubble teas. While I’ve had better laksa, it was still good as was the roti canal I had. I also had a milk tea that was very good. Will definitely be back and this time bring my teenagers are as I saw some items they would like. The restaurant is in a strip mall near Microsoft where there is a Taiwanese and also a Cantonese bakery nearby. Bonus to pick up/try other items.More

There was no wait at lunch on a Sunday. Plenty of available tables. Service was friendly but food was mediocre unless you really crave for Malaysian food. Pricing was reasonable.

This was my second time and must say the place is a must visit if you like south east asian cuisine. The curries were great and one of the most tasteful ones I had compared to other restaurants .. loved the food and will surely...recommend.Ambience is nice and reasonably priced.More
