For a buffet they do a good job. There is sushi, other Asian food, American food, lots of options at a decent price. I'm not a fan of buffets but this one was good and worth trying to get fresh seafood.
Haiku has variety of food types. Sushi is really good & has fair variety of seafood types. The oysters were delicious and the prawns were beyond my expectations.
They have meat which was very tender and tastes amazing.
The only missing thing is fried sushi...which is why I gave 4/5More
I've been to Haiku a few times. The restaurant is clean and there is a good variety of food to choose from; including sushi, Chinese food, crab, salad, dim sum, dessert & soup. There is a lot of food to choose from, & there should...be, it's not cheap with the buffet ranging from $25-$30 depending on what time you go. We usually go for special occasions. The food is good & there's lots of it! It's definitely a little more upscale than a lot of Asian buffets.More
My wife and I tried Haiku the first time as we were staying across the street - Tuesday dinner. Presentation is nice and the restaurant is fairly clean. However, it's not as good as Mizuki. It has less selection for one. The soy sauce is...not the type for sushi, but the type that is used for Chinese cooking. The sashimi is fresh, but they are not sliced. Rather, they are cut up into chunks and placed on top of cucumber slices in plastic cups. More than half of the sashimi has a cucumber infused taste to it.
Snow crab legs were good. Same with some of the sashimi not placed on cucumbers. Some of the rolls are ok.
Some of the meats are carried over from lunch. For example, the pork ribs, roast beef, short ribs, BBQ duck. We were there right at 530pm, none of those items got replenished even once by the time we left at 7pm.
We tried a bunch of different desserts. None were good. Green tea ice cream tasted powdery. Flan tasted like dressing. Cheesecake didn't taste like cheesecake. Crepe was ok - the batter was definitely powder based.More
On the way back to Kirkland after visiting Snoqualmie Falls with relatives one Saturday last year, we stopped for dinner at Haiku Sushi & Seafood Buffet in Redmond. My wife's brother told us it's an all you can eat buffet so there's often a huge...dinner rush from the two Marriott hotels across the street. Our timing was perfect. We got there just before they opened for dinner.
Our party of 5 adults & a child was greeted promptly & led to our table. After getting settled, we went to look over the buffet. It had the largest selection of items I've seen. There was a huge, multi-sided bar in the middle plus more serving counters in back.
The sushi bar had the various maki-type roll sushi, temaki (cone shaped hand rolled sushi wrapped in seaweed paper called nori), nigiri (hand pressed thumb-sized fingers of rice with a slice of fish, calamari, shrimp, fried egg or similar ingredient laid on top), gunkan maki (like nigiri but with a strip of nori wrapped around the side of the rice with fish eggs [ikura/tobiko/masago] or other similar loose ingredient filling the space on top the rice), inarizushi (seasoned rice stuffed in a fried tofu pouch) & too many more to go into here. And that's just the types of sushi. For each type, they had a variety of ingredients. I was surprised to see they even had one with uni (sea urchin eggs) which I love. This particular ingredient is usually a bit pricey.
They also had a wide variety of other raw & cooked seafoods and meats, chicken, duck, salads, side dishes & desserts. My wife & I enjoy sushi & fresh, raw seafood so we went a bit heavy on those items. Snow & Dungeness crab were also available with my preference being the latter. In this kind of restaurant, I avoid desserts. But if you have a sweet tooth they have a large selection to choose from.
Since dinner was on my brother-in-law, I don't know how much it was but the restaurant's website showed $24 per head. I have no point of comparison to other Seattle area buffets so can't comment in that respect. But their food is quite similar to the Prince Court Waikiki, except Haiku has a larger variety of sushi & other menu items. And considering the Prince Court seafood dinner buffet is normally $50 per adult & even more for holiday brunches, from my perspective Haiku is a good value. You just have to enjoy eating sushi & seafood and have a good appetite when you go.More
The place is super clean and they have all sorts of food, not just sushi and seafood. Some of it was fine and some just ok, and some, like crab legs and duck, uneatable. The place was packed with people. I wouldn't come back because...for me, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Overall, it is a great value for the money.More
We eat at Haiku 3 to 4 times a month. We don't eat shell fish at home so this is a good place to get my fill. I love shrimp and at dinner there is always great shrimp dishes. Sushi is always fresh. Love all...the dishes. They even have a dessert bar with a chocolate fountain.
The employee are super friendly filling the water clearing the plates with a smile.More
I was very pleased with the selection of food. The sushi was fresh and tasty. You had everything you could image Japanese. Ribs, duck sushi etc. We had our fill and our party had no complaints except we over ate. We will return
