I started going to the original Mazatlan in downtown Puyallup probably close to 40 years ago and to see what they are offering today is really sad. Used to be great authentic food that you could really enjoy. Now sadly it is nothing more that...a chain food store. Nita must be rolling over.More

I have eaten a lot of chili rellenos in my lifetime. I have never had one like this. The pepper stuffed with cheese was wrapped in a thin egg like coating?? Usually it is covered in a batter like coating. Maybe they forgot the flour?...Has anyone had one like this. It tasted good, but different. My sister had cheese enchiladas.More

I you have never been to Mazatlán Restaurant, they are all pretty much the same. This location is clean, good parking and this visit all the staff were friendly. Standard Mexican dishes with a good mix of meats and sauces. A bit expensive for lunch,...around $60 for two meals and drinks.More

Took my two girls here for dinner and had a very nice time. Our waiter was excellent and the food was excellent. I had the grilled chimichanga dish with beans and rice and I loved it. My daughter had a quesadilla and she said it...was the best she had ever had. My other daughter had a ground beef burrito dish. We all agreed the refried beans were so delicious and kept eating the large portion. Still we had leftovers!More

This restaurant’s staff asked for a service dog license or certification for my service dog. This is not legal to do. We tried to educate them about the laws and what they can ask. I even showed them my medical equipment to help prove he...is a service dog. Their response was to refuse us service. My service dog was laying quietly under the bench in the waiting area as he is trained to do. He was clearly in a vest and marked as a service dog. They did not care that they were breaking federal law.More

We made made reservations for 60 people about 5 minutes before showing up. So understandably, we waited in the lobby for about 30 minutes before being seated. The chips were good; the salsa was chunky, but tasty. Orders were taken efficiently and there were very...few mistakes even with such a large group. On the few mistakes, effort was made to quickly remedy the orders. The refried beans and fries (with kids meals) were very good. The 3 taco meal had half a no longer crunchy taco shell on the first taco, a whole shell on the second and half again on the third. Did they just run out??? Kids meals are about $5.99; others run $12-$20. While the whole meal took three hours, due to the size of our group, we were impressed with the service.More

After being seated the hostess was in the process of bringing chips and salsa to the table when I requested "Salsa Verde" and "Salsa Picosa" I was told that they did not have that. This is a VERY typical request in ANY Mexican restaurant. The...menu was just OK. The margaritas were weak. My Molcajete w/seafood I ordered tasted alright but cost over $20 bucks almost the most expensive thing on the menu. It would have tasted better with some Salsa Picosa....Wink....Wink. I will not return to this restaurant.More

Food is always excellent service was a bit slow due to only one waiter for the whole restaurant once more staff became available the service was top-notch. The restaurant has a very authentic theme , and the staff is always very professional and pleasant. If...I had any negative feedback it is the fact that you do not receive chips and salsa until after you make your order. As this seems like such an inexpensive bonus to eating at a Mexican restaurant it's funny to me that they limit this part of your experience.More

The food here was typical Mexican but the one dish that stood out was the Molcajete which was delicious. The spices were perfect, it was hot, and was a generous serving. We did have to order additional tortillas however. Most of the other food which...included a burrito were pretty much standard Mexican fare.More

Came here last night cuz I found it on Yelp. I had ordered the Chalupa and enchilada meal. I love Chalupas....not so much this one. For one thing, there was something "weird" about the shell, it was almost like they were using a day old...one, and it was very thick. All the other chalupas I have ever had in any other Mexican restaurant has always been nice and thin and crispy. Another thing is the meat....they were clumps of meat, not "loose" meat for lack of a better term. If I didn't know I had ordered an enchilada, I would've never known there was one. It was small and it was smothered with cheese and sauce. The rice I guess was ok, the beans could've used a little bit more flavor. Family I was with seemed to like their dishes. I took a bite of a tamale, the masa was a little dry to me. So besides the fact that I live in Snohomish County, the food definitely did not win me over to even consider coming back while visiting with friends/family down here.More

Waited a very long time to have someone ask for beverage orders. Food is average and prices are average. I am not a fan of Mexican food so ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. It was ok, I realize it is a Mexican restaurant so...really can't complain. Met with some old friends from the place I worked at for 20 yrs. so we had a lot of catching up to do. While we were visiting after our meal we were asked to leave because they needed the table for a party of 20. I was shocked that they would ask us to leave. We were quietly visiting. It wasn't like we were a noisy group. We are a group of ladies in our 60's and 70's. Will find a friendlier place to meet and eat next time.More
