My husband and I are Mexican food aficionados, and we always come here. Excellent service, tasty food, and people who never giggle at my Spanish.

Of all the Mexican Restaurants in the area, El Sarape is my family's go-to place for delicious and true Mexican food, and plenty of it, great ambiance and excellent service at an affordable price. The salsa is fresh and delicious, and the Pancho Villa Burrito lives up to its name. If it's a birthday celebration they'll provide the big hat,... More

My daughter lives in Port Townsend and recommend this place for a birthday dinner. We were greeted right away and seated in back to see the water. Chips are homemade and the salsa is great. Food came fast, my wife and I split an meal and still was food leftover. I would go back again. Staff was very helpful and... More

Bang for the buck! My brother and I had driven from Port Angeles and were waiting for the ferry when we popped in here for lunch. I had the most awesome enchiladas ever - fresh and not overcooked spinach in an enchilada? YES! This thing does exist.

Have been going to this restaurant for many years when in Port Townsend, but it appears to be going downhill in both service and quality. Arrived here late in the afternoon on a Sunday to order a meal to take back to my hotel for later that evening. There was literally NO ONE in the restaurant but myself and a... More

My husband and I had the chicken and steak fajitas for 2. It was around $20. The waitress let us mix our tortillas so we had half flour and half corn, half chicken, half steak. Very good! It came with a plate of beans, rice, guac, sour cream. The fajitas were sizzling when they came to our table. I had the... More

Ate dinner there and had the carne asada. My meat was pretty salty but my husband said only a couple of bites of his was salty. Other than that it was good.

The service was prompt and super friendly. The food was not so good. Not by my standards. I remembered this place from years ago and remembered I liked it very much. Servings were certainly ample. The folks I ordered with had more traditional fare like meat and bean burritoes. But I ordered fish tacos. I have recently developed a liking... More
