Stopped in for lunch here for the first time based on other favorable reviews; unfortunately, we left disappointed due to the slow service and average food for the price. For our appetizer (which took more the 30 mins to be served), we ordered grilled corn...tortillas with sauteed shrimp. The tortillas were a bit under-cooked but the shrimp were tasty. The avocado crema and pico de gallo was good; however, the vinaigrette slaw wasn't very good.
For our main meal we ordered Fried Seafood Combo & Chips. Overall a mixed review on the fried seafood platter which was not as tasty as expected because it was overcooked; however, the fries were very tasty and perfectly crisp. The fried oysters did not have a fresh taste to them. The clam strips were overcooked as was the cod which was dry. The shrimp wereetasty and cooked perfectly.
We ate outdoors on the porch overlooking the sailboats moored in the harbor which was a nice setting.
Due to the slow service, average food for the price, we won't be back and I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch.More
Their clam chowder is thick and dreamy. Cheese sauces were equally thick and yet smooth as they went down. This was the first time I ordered from them during a pandemic, and so I ordered pickup. What I most appreciated this time around is that unlike...so many other places you order "to go" they actually included the bread and butter. We got four rolls for three dinners. Very classy.
I used their online ordering site which told me I could pick up the meal in three minutes. So that was weird. But it only took a phone call to find out when I could really show up and get the food, and they handed it to me upon my arrival.More
I wish I could say I love this place. If it had only been one instance, I could use the bad day excuse. However, this was my experience on 2 separate occasions. I had visitors from out of town. It was actually kind of embarrassing...after talking you up from customer reviews. My experience was definitely lacking. Major serving faux pas is serving the 2 tables that come after you, before you. Two tables seated 10-15 minutes after myself and my guests, were even given drinks and bread before us. Drinks and bread came WITH the food. Additionally, people here need to put their cell phones away and focus on taking care of their customers. Seafood is also tastier when served hot. My guess is the server brought the food after finishing their text.More
Love the location on the Olympia Waterfront. Our first time here. Walked in on a Sunday during brunch and was seated right away with a window table. We ordered the clam chowder, Dungeness crab salad, Dungeness Crab Cakes w/veggies and rice pilaf, and Fettucine Alfredo....Everything was delicious and the right amount of portions for the both of us. Our server was great and checked on us frequently. Will definitely come back again.More
Party of four arrived at about 5:45 and saw lots of people waiting so figured it would be good. Got seated in about 20 minutes however sun was coming in the window and was very hot in spite of the shade being lowered. We waited...about five minutes until a server came. We put in our drink orders and food orders immediately. About ten minutes later we still had no drinks and two other tables had come in and received drinks and appetizers. Finally our drinks came but not any water which had been asked for and one person ordered gin and tonic but did not receive tonic. The server was told about it when he delivered the drinks. After another long wait one of our party went to the bar and got water for everyone and tonic to go with the gin. When the food finally came both appetizers and entrees were served at the same time and there was still no bread and butter (it came about halfway through the meal. Everyone enjoyed their food but if we are back in town I think we will try other places.More
Took a friend there for a birthday lunch. Both fish dishes were hard and overly cooked, after waiting
a month for it to arrive. It was terrible and very expensive ($78.) for two people., no wine. The food turned my stomach and the service was...very slow. I will never return to this disgusting overpriced dive.More
Yuk ! Greasy, heavy and waaaay overpriced. Dinner for 2 with no drinks was 70 bucks before tip. Everything was oily and over-fried: calamari, artichokes, seafood platter, fries. None of it good and 2 hours later we felt miserable. The ravioli dish was ok, but...very heavy on the cream and too much salt. The service was excellent and the only reason we stayed after the apps (Sierra was great). We wanted to like Budd Bay but our 1st time was our last. Don't believe the rankings online. - Skip this place.More
We have been avid local patrons for YEARS! We’ve Loved Bud Bay. But the last few times has NOT BEEN GOOD! Mediocre Food & Watered Down Drinks. Not going Back. As I said. We’ve been going for YEARS! Sad🥲
My husband and I have visited Budd bay multiple times and each time we are 'wowed' more! The wait staff is amazing, the food is absolutely delectable and the atmosphere is much like a higher end restaurant but at a fraction of the cost. The...view is beautiful as you can look out and see the waterfront!More
