The porker - humongous and really good. Side fruit cup was fresh. The backyard view and feel adds to the charm.

We stopped to shop for fresh fruit from the valley. The store sells a variety of products from the region and specialty goods from around the Northwest. We bought fresh picked apples and peaches to take home with us.
The reviews for this farm/restaurant are quite good. We found the collective group to be accurate. The farmstand alone is impressive with lots of vegetables, fruit and local goods. The restaurant is something. Sitting out back and overlooking the well-manicured gardens was fun and relaxing....The menu is limited, but what they have is excellent. You won't be disappointed with the entrees or sides. One recommendation I have is that the portions are so large, it might be wise to consider splitting a meal. We brought leftovers home. That rarely happens. Last few things and the reason for 4 stars. They say their service is slow - it is - but we also found it to be poor and distracting. And - the hovering flys were disconcerting at best. Having to swat at them in between bites was not what we were looking to experience with our evening.More
A favorite place of ours! Great brisket sandwich and dill potato salad! Good selection of draft beer and tasty fries. Love the local offerings and fruit from their orchards and local cheeses.
Take out during Covid! What a treat Hubby and I split a BLT with extra super high quality bacon on homemade rustic garlic rosemary bread. I.can’t.even. It was incredible. Going back next week for brisket. We took home a huge scone filled with raspberries and...white chocolate and lots of almonds. Even the next morning it was so so good.More
We had giant breakfast plates--everything was super fresh, delicious and the portions were huge! We've also eaten here for lunch and dinner. The burgers are to die for and the salads are super fresh and sooo good!
Stopped for lunch and we each enjoyed an extra special sandwich and side. Bread was home made and incredibly delicious. The rosemary/sea salt bread, lightly toasted was over the moon wonderful. Ingredients were fresh and bountiful. Staff was great and lots of local food and...gifts to peruse.More
We stopped for breakfast returning home from the Methow Valley. This farm stand restaurant combination is excellent and I will plan future road trips to include more meals. The breakfast menu had the regular items, plus more interesting choices. My spinach egg potato cheese wrap...was awesome. We hear their slow cooked ribs are incredible. Their produce was great, my box of Roma tomatoes are the tastiest Roma’s I’ve had. Lots of nice crafts and gifts to browse- our meal was a bit slow to arrive, not a problem for us. The baking I bought was better than my own at home.More
Just had lunch at Smallwood & as always, they never disappoint. Chicken salad is the best we have had in years, so fresh & delicious! Even the grapes are sweet & crispy & their own apples to boot! Burger was also delicious with killer, seasoned...fries. The staff is friendly & it’s just an absolute pleasure to eat here. Best choice in Okanogan/Omak area for sure! Definitely going to go back & try their smoked meats which they do on weekends for dinner in fall/winter.More
Always great to stop and see what they have on the shelves and what the daily special is..great good..smells great when you walk it
I have been coming to the area for nearly 40 years, and have driven by this spot many times, but never realized what a gem this is. I was in the area for a family gathering. I wanted to take the family someplace we had...never been, but wanted it to be a positive experience. It was! I found on their web site that they do dinners on Friday only. They feature a steak dinner on Friday nights. I called and was able to reserve a table on the patio. In the evening, the patio is on the shady side of the building. They have fans and water misters that nicely tamed the June heat wave that we were experiencing. Combined with a breeze the temperature was quite comfortable. An added bennie was the smoke from the BBQ pit wafting occasionally by your nose. (If you come in the off-season, or just prefer it, there is indoor seating as well.) We entered via the main entrance, in part to see the goodies that were for sale. The place is a working orchard/farm, and it sounds like this started as a fruit stand. In side they did have early season cherries as well as other fresh produce. Beyond the farm stand "stuff", they also had a huge assortment of local products: honey, pickles, sauces, vino, cold beers, etc. For the sweet tooth they had hard ice cream, freshly baked pies, and other assorted goodies. We parked ourselves at the table, ordered a couple of drafts, and enjoyed a musician playing acoustic guitar and singing songs I knew (Bonus), while we examined the menu. The have a small dinner menu of steaks and pasta dishes as well as a couple of specials, and apparently you could also order from their extensive lunch menu too. The rest of the table ordered the special steak dinner- 8 oz sirloin grilled to order, baked potato with the trimmings, ceasar salad, and a slice of house made toast. I ordered one of the specials there were offering. It was a brisket plate with smoked brisket, bbq beans, cold slaw, corn bread, and a side salad. The food was impressive! The portions were generous. Everything was fresh and very tasty! Our server, Ashley, was part of the family that had been running the place for 4 generations. She did a lovely job of making us comfortable and relaxed. After our dinner we were told they had fresh strawberry rhubarb pie as well as huckleberry swirl ice cream.... No room, so we have to come back. Don't just drive, by like we have for years.More
While Smallwood may look like a typical farmstand from the highway, you just have to walk on the property to know otherwise. The deck is a stunning place to eat your lunch or dinner, or participate in one of their events. The food in the...cafe is very tasty and is mostly sourced locally. One can easily spend hours here enjoying the food and atmosphere or just a quick few minutes in the store or grabbing an ice cream cone on a hot day.More
We have went twice for their steak night. We usually go early because we usually eat early. We went at 5:00. No one else there when we got there. It’s a seat yourself place. We were waited on right away. I ordered the steak and...got a Cesar salad, a baked potato and roll. My husband is on the keto diet so he asked if he could get a bigger salad ( just a regular salad) and the steak. Which they obliged with no problem. The steak was delicious. Potato was a little over done but eatable. I would recommend steak night anytime.More
This place is off the grid and I'm sure mostly travelers from point A to B are their customer base (for the store front). I've been here twice now and the yesterday, a Sunday, adjusted my earlier travels to make sure I got there before...they closed. It's your standard farm style store with lots of Mason jar products and a few locally made products. The 1st time here I stopped, hungry thinking about grabbing some fruit, not knowing they had a small deli/restaurant inside. Eat there! I ordered a mushroom burger with a side salad. For a smallish place on the side of the road I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the prepared food (if anyone from Smallwood reads this, you have to advertise more about your little restuarant). I ordered to go expecting an average burger, plus I still had 4 more hours to drive to get back to Seattle. After the first bite of my burger...I pulled over in a small pull out so I could savor every bite without the added stress of driving. I'm not sure where the beef came from but if your a hamburger person like myself you know what I mean when you mentally say to yourself "that's some good burger!". The mushrooms were excellent and the other topping were just all perfect. They also sell baked goods. And everyone I tried has been off the charts. I was disappointed after changing my travel plans to get there before they closed because I was also wanting carrot cake "bites". Mini carrot cake cupcakes that are delicious. They didn't have any. Bummer. So I instead got a blueberry scone out of one of there cases that is the best scone I've ever had. 1st time there I also left with some peaches that were awesome. I haven't tried one of the honey crisp apples I purchased yesterday. I'm confidant they wont dissapoint.More
Where to begin? 1) the food was delicious! Fresh made delicious bread on all our sandwiches. My kids had fresh seasonal fruit - and for once it was actually FRESH seasonal fruit - yummy peaches, pears, and berries. I had the most delicious smoked pulled...pork, and was served enough for two people to eat! We had ice cream for dessert, in an interesting variety of flavors including Washingtons own Huckleberry. The people were so friendly - chatting with us like we were long time neighbors- and sweet to our passel of children who can be rather rascally ;) This place is off the beaten path, but I would go out of my way to make a return trip! I'm totally smitten!More
