Generous yellowtail sashimi and unagi nigiri. Very good chashu ramen. Intimate quiet dining rooms and friendly staff

We were seated in a well lit portion of this cute restaurant. Lots of seats in the darker portion. Three of us ordered different curry dishes. Mine with the vegetables was very good. The menu said it was spicy, but I enjoy the flavors of it all. It came with a small salad and was served on a box. They... More

We have enjoyed the food every time we have eaten there. Good variety and pleasant service. However, they tend to close early (sometimes by 7 pm) which makes it very difficult to enjoy the establishment.

Anne, I apologize for the inconvenience our early hours creates for you. We never close before 7:30 and always accept reservations. Our hours enable to us to run our business with the number of staff that keeps costs down and our doors open. We enjoy a passion for our restaurant that requires a large amount of prep work between opening... More

We were there for a weekend of agility. We'll be visiting this lovely place whenever we go to Mt. Vernon in the future. Cute little place with nice decor. Friendly and efficient service. Great food.

I love coming here on dates. It is a cozy restaurant with a romantic ambiance. The food is outstanding! I almost always get the hot pot with the teriyaki broth. They bring out a giant bowl filled with raw meat and an assortment of raw vegetables on a hot plate so you can cook it right at your table. I... More

We stopped in for lunch on our way back to Seattle from Canada and were pleasantly surprised. Quaint house surrounded by traditionally pruned foliage; indoor tables are casual and homey; fun variety of Japanese dishware. Food was hearty & traditional and reminded us of our time in Japan. The two pieces of nigiri sushi we started with were very generously-sized,... More

We have been looking for good sushi in the Mount Vernon area and have either been disappointed or found the places just ok. We heard through friends to try the Kyoto Kitchen and we were glad we did. The menu seemed limited but we were able to get actually whatever we wanted, including fancy type of rolls. The salmon sashimi... More

I made a detour off I5 (from Seattle to Vancouver) to visit this place based on Tripadvisor reviews. When I overheard the waitress tell another customer "I'm not sure what happened but just a few years, we started to get really busy." I said to myself, humm, maybe that's when the glowing reviews started for this place? Living in a... More

Went there for dinner one night. Ended up getting an appetizer and leaving. There wasn't anything special and the prices were high. Cute little place. Odd layout. Not great service.

Love this memorable place! Everything I have tried has been super fresh quality and prepared/presented wonderfully. Truly a find. Excellent salads, vegatables (try the tempura or spinach),sushi, suyaki, noodle, seafood beef or chicken dishes...you really can't go wrong here. The atmosphere is great in winter or summer. A beautifully converted home and garden. Personable with white linen tablecloth/napkins service.
