My birthday treat

We were told there were no reservations and we still went prepared to be turned away. We were lucky and there was a table. I had the carb and shrimp melt, which was good, but I looked with envious eyes at those with the Mill burger. We started with a pickle jar to share between four and even the two pickle lovers had their fill. The beer was also great and they were able to fill my 128oz keg before we left. We will return.

Ask to sit in Brandon's area!!

The food is good, although do not order the smoked salmon linguine. It is not what you expect. The halibut fish and chips were wonderful. The steaks looked good but a little spendy, for me. But Brandon will make your day.

Food was good, Service was not - We were with a party of 10+. The server had 2 assisting with the table and the service was still incredibly poor. The server took drink orders at one end of the table, but not the other- so half of us did not have drinks as appetizers were ordered and delivered. The restuarant was not busy, there were many open tables, so the long delays between seeing the server did not make sense. Food was good, but the overall service just didnt match the atmopshere.

Came in based off recommendation for good steak. Now the service was great, absolutely no complaints there as we were well tended to. It was all downhill from there. Ordered the salmon Oscar and the prime rib. Salmon was way over cooked, and had the skin left on which isn’t an issue but biting in and getting a mouth full of a fin and scales is. The prime rib which we asked for medium rare was also over cooked and the sides had ridiculously too much rosemary. Like the top of the spice container fell off and had been dumped in the potatoes and on the vegetables. We were hungry so just dealt with it. Got the bill at the end though and there was an additional inflation charge on it?!? Look I get that the costs of goods are going up that doesn’t bother me but just adjust the pricing of your food I’d be fine paying it just be transparent. Springing an additional charge that you don’t have listed on your menu up front is bad business- like a car dealer that tacks on hidden fees. Wouldn’t recommend.

Oh no. Had to ask for napkins, was told they ran out of silverware. Ask for salt & pepper & ketchup brought about 1 tablespoon. Unbelievable & wasn’t even busy. We figured it out, you people cater to the BAR people.. will never come back & I’m spreading this all around. Not good & hire a cleaning service

We celebrated my 73rd birthday on April 16, 2022. The service provided by Tiffany was extraordinary . She remembered us from a year ago. The steaks are the Best, comparing to top notch steakhouses in Seattle. This is our go to for celebrations.

We ate on the Patio- Great casual atmosphere. Food was excellent. Server Josh was fun light hearted and enjoyable. Will definitely eat here again and recommend. Dog friendly on the patio which was so nice!!

Tried yet again, still a flop

Well, we hadn’t been here in about a year, and decided to give it another go. Full disclosure: we shared our grievances with our server, with the chef, and in the past with the owners. They do not take accountability or respond to emails, or complaints. This Visit (Nov 2023) Service Plus: Server was kind, attentive, and listened. She brought the chef out to discuss our meal, which we hated. Service Minus: never got refills (or offers) on water, wrong appetizer was brought to the table, offered a free dessert for their mistake, which was not offered again or acted upon. Meal did not reflect any discount or further offers after mistaken appetizer and horrible entree. Meal Plus: salad was brought out quickly. Appetizer brought out quickly, and was delicious. Mean Minus: salad was entirely overdressed to the point of being soggy and inedible. Short ribs were absolutely disgusting. Dry, tough and lacking any flavor other than smoke. Inedible. Broccolini on the side looked charred and unappetizing. Mashed potatoes had so much garlic and maybe truffle oil (?) they were unappetizing. Took over an hour to even get entree. Ridiculous wait time. Overall: Ambience is steak house, kind of rough. Definitely not refined enough for the prices they charge. Service doesn’t reflect prices. Meal definitely doesn’t reflect prices. Vibe is they really don’t give a damn. We won’t be back. ✌🏻 We won’t be back.

Milton's hidden gem

Are you looking for a new spot to kick back and enjoy yourself with great ambiance, an eclectic menu for every pallet and signature drinks for an evening out? Look no further, take it from us, we travel and eat out a lot. We found a hidden gem not far from Tacoma in the little town of Milton WA. Called The Mill. The food is exceptional each time we have eaten there- and quite frankly we frequent this spot often. Trust us, it’s worth the drive! BUT five star quality food, the ambiance and an array of drinks, is not what has us coming back for more, it’s quite simply the PEOPLE behind the magic. We have to give HUGE KUDOS to Brandon, Christie, Ray and who can forget Patrick, their intrepid leader and manager. We can’t say enough good things about Brandon; he was our first impression of the Mill. He has always been so welcoming, he’s the reason we came back the second time. He goes above and beyond for us, including one night coming in late, he asked the kitchen to serve us- we kept it simple but the gesture alone was and is a huge selling point and why we are writing this review. Brandon is always ready for our banter and exchange of puns, plus he introduced us to the “Juicy Asian Pear” a Mill specialty concoction created by their own in-house mixologist, Ray! This guy knows how to mix flavors, spirits and elixirs to create one of a kind thirst quenching beverages that have you coming back for more, he definitely knows his way around a bar. Christie, well, she is a doll! This girl knows her customers, she introduced us to the killer Mac and cheese! We highly recommend you try that too. She’s personable and an absolute delight. So, in short, if you are looking for the TRIFECTA- STELLAR service, exceptional food and beverage and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further! Go to the Mill in Milton, tell them Dino and Julia sent you! They will welcome you with a smile.

Paying for food you didn’t order

Here’s a review a friend wrote about this place. DO NOT GO TO THE MILL RESTAURANT IN MILTon, WA! I don’t ever post on here for anything but I feel like everyone needs to hear this. My husband and I and a few friends went to eat there last night. We saw the server we liked and asked to be in his section. Right when we sat down my husband jokingly goes “A5’s for the table” and laughs. Our server laughs and my husband, him, and another friend of ours start talking about bourbon and cocktails. Our server says he’s going to come back and take our drink order so he did and our drinks came. He then came back and asked if we wanted to get food started we told him we just wanted to do some apps to share and ordered. A few minutes later a steak comes out to our table and we tell the food runner oh we didn’t order that must be the wrong table. She takes the steak back and a minute later our server comes over and says omg I am so sorry we had a misunderstanding I thought you really wanted the steak mind you he never asked us how we wanted it cooked or what choice of sides we wanted, and the server said he would take it off the bill and walks away. A few minutes later another guy with the steak comes walking over to our table and sets it down and says I’m Patrick the general manager and you ordered this steak and you are paying for it. My husband said no we did not order that he didn’t even ask how we wanted it cooked or anything in regards to that and he told us nope you are paying for it and I’m calling the police. Sure enough 10 minutes later the police show up and the GM comes in with them and says that guy to the police and they ask to talk to my husband, he explains to the police what happened and they completely understand and tell my husband they will talk to the GM and at the least have him take half of it off. The GM doesn’t budge and won’t listen to the police and says nope he needs to pay for it so the police have no choice but to tell my husband we have to pay for it or they will have to arrest him. So we say okay fine we will pay for it, the police officer tells us he will wait outside for us just in case anything else happens with the GM. We get the bill from the server and hand them our credit card, our server takes it away and in the meantime the general manager comes back to our table and kicks my husband out, my husband says we are going to leave as soon as we get our credit card back and the general manager once again aggressive is like no you need to leave now so my husband says fine and goes to walk out and they are exchanging words back and forth to the point our friend tells the GM he is a little man and the general manager replies you are really going to say that me with a pony tail on your end. So we all leave and tell the police what happened and they can’t believe it but aren’t surprised about this happening at the Mill. This morning I called the restaurant to speak to the owner to tell him what happened and I get the executive chef who proceeds to tell me he disagrees with what I am saying and we were all in the wrong and is so rude. I left this review on Yelp and after 20 minutes of getting no where with the exec chef he tells me he saw my trashy reviews. That is when I hung up the phone because I could not take being treated so disrespectfully anymore. LONG RANT but people need to know what kind of people are running this local spot. To say we will never be back is an understatement.

Have been here several times this year. The food is alright but lacks atmosphere. A diner I suppose. More atmosphere in the ajoining bar where you can also eat. Went there 3 times in 2 weeks and the servers never remember you.

I have heard many time nice things about this place from friends, but I cannot seem to get the same service or food they have experienced. Tryed again last night. I thought the first two visits were because they were a new restaurant. It has been well over a year since we tried this place before. Nope. Maybe we will try next year again.... Maybe customer service might improve?
