This place is loaded with history and definitely feels like it. Good food at good prices. Tends to get very crowded, but there's a lot of outdoor seating in the summer. If you happen to find yourself thirsty on Mercer Island, this is a great place to go. No kids allowed, though.

Good service, good bar food, and a good range of beers! This is the sweetest old bar I have been to in the Seattle area. Loads of pub style charm and unchanged in a very good way!

My husband loves the Roanoke. It has an old fashioned bar vibe. Very loud unless you sit outdoors, which is even possible in the winter due to heaters on the porch. The menu is standard American diner. The food is fine, but I don't like the noise or the difficulty finding a seat.

Historical bar! Long history on Mercer Island. Great beer on tap. Drinks are predictable (nothing special). Food is okay. Service is friendly. You will not feel hurried!

Great centralized meeting place for those coming from the Eastside and those coming from Downtown Seattle with relatively easy access on and off I90. Beer selection was a good local variety and service was good considering they were packed. My colleague and I split the Nachos Grande and it was good but a bit on the small side. I will... More

The Roanoke Inn celebrated its 100th anniversary recently and continues to be a gathering place for 'locals' near and far.

We stopped in to meet a friend for dinner. It was a rainy evening, so the place was not packed. The food was good, nothing exceptional. Sandwiches, taco salad, and fetuccine alfredo were the items we ordered. Our friend had a basket of onion rings. They were pretty good, and all the helpings were very generous. I got the BLTA... So very happy to see that The Roanoke Inn ('The Roey' to some of us) made the Top 10 List of Seattle Bars to visit in the Seattle area. It is a historical treasure that continues to welcome patrons (am I dating myself here) for decades and decades. It is comfy and always welcoming. In the summer you can dine... More

We discovered this restaurant after a stair-step hike, having a brew and lunch in its lovely back yard. There are 6-8 "stations" with a table and umbrella, with rhodies in between so you have a great sense of privacy. The food is very good and they have a great selection of draft beers, but the big draw in the beauty... More

There aren't too many bars on Mercer Island, so The Roanoke often becomes crowded. There's no hostess, and the bar is very small. As a result, if you don't get a seat when you walk in, you're not going to get one unless you hover over an occupied table. Parking is very limited. It can be a fun place to... More
