This restaurant is just north of the "historic" downtown Lynden and, along with its quaint exterior - resembling an old drive-in, it is probably missed by most tourists and, by the looks of it, locals. In this person's view, it's mission is to appeal to the locals. The exterior and, for that matter, the interior, has a handful of items... More

great food, excellent service, old school decor...former drive in turned resturant could use some update. But breastfast is top notch and the hamburgers are excellent. Talk with the Dutch elder farmers and learn about the Lynden culture

Had lived in Lynden for a few years before I made it here. I wish I had gone much sooner. I've seen a couple negative comments about aspects of this restaurant that I find endearing. 1) "It's dated". Yes, it is......perfectly! It reminds me of places I used to eat as a kid (I'm 48). And, while it's dated, it's... More

We like to eat where the locals eat. Dutch Treat Restaurant is where the locals come to gather, drink some coffee and do some socializing. Their food is definitely "Homemade." We stopped here to have breakfast. It was not a disappointment at all. My husband raved about their "Biscuit & Gravy" and my "Pigs In a Blanket" was divine. I... More

The food is ok but a lot of the locals gather daily which makes one feel like they are intruding. Service is good but the menu offer nothing special. The place is worn and dated but as I said the food is ok and the price is about right.

Was looking for some traditional Dutch pastries - but was disappointed - most of the items we did purchased were excellent. The muffins were average. Staff needs some training in Dutch Treats - as the name implies.

I like traditional diners with good breakfasts. Dutch Treat also has home made donuts that are yummy. Full lunch menu too. I'm fond of the Turkey Club myself. Sandwich huge and can feed two people. Not fancy. Cozy booths. Huge milkshakes. The farmers sit at the back table, drink coffee and solve the world's problems. They all look at you... More
