Looking for a place to eat in Lyle and we only had 3 to choose from. We went to the Country Cafe and it was definitely a locals spot. The waitress was attentive and friendly. I ordered crisp bacon and that's exactly what I got. They took it literally !! There was plenty to eat. It was nice to hear... More

Been here only twice, two times too many. It took one hour to get breakfast to us. It was nothing difficult bacon and eggs & hshbrowns. We were the only ones in the restaurant. A year later we tried lunch I had the special .... it was meat loaf and mashed potatoes. Everything was buried in a brown gravy (straaight... More

Good pancakes and country fried steak breakfasts. I was tempted to try a hand dipped milkshake - today's was fresh blackberry - but it was a bit early for dessert and Neither of us had room for more after breakfast. Worth the stop!

When travelling I like to eat at the small town, local places and let others have the chains. The Country Café fit the bill. Meatloaf on the menu and pie. Quick and cheerful service and good coffee (50 cents a cup!) I recommend getting off the interstate, in this case taking WA 14 up the N. side of the Columbia.... More

Years ago, I worked in the Columbia River Gorge. This cafe was a weekly visit for me... So, when I had a chance to enjoy the Country Cafe again on a photo trip, I grabbed it! Very good service, simple American food with good portions and home-made desserts! A great value nestled in a very expensive area for tourists. Enjoy... More

It's like walking in to the living room of small town USA. There's one dinner special each night; like pot roast, prime rib, or spaghetti. & there are homemade pies! To be honest, the food is just ok. The real deal is just being here.Start a conversation with Rose the owner as she takes your order, or Dave her husband... More

This is a small cafe where if they know your name you are likely to be greeted at the door "Cheers style." The locals carry on conversations across the room and visitors are always welcome to join in. The food is small-town cafe food - hamburgers and sandwiches with a featured dinner item each evening. Don't stop here if you... More
