Over the course of four hours, we were treated to 18 tastings of mouth-watering morsels by members of the Willows' Corps du Cuisine. Of particular note were angelica and rhubarb, truffles and winter mushroom soup, and woodruff and nettles. Chef Blaine Wetzel was welcoming and personable. His book, "Sea and Smoke: Flavors from the Untamed Pacific Northwest," is a treasure... More

Excellent! This was a special occasion, anniversary and birthday combined. Due to our schedule, we went early in the season (spring 2016). Our meal was more of an event. The Chef was very gracious. The food and ingredients were masterful. We were very comfortable with our Staff member, their attention was seamless and deliberate. We will be back again to... More

My husband and I always explore new places and we have fallen in love with this place.  In one year, we have been to this place a few times. It's our favorite get-away spot. It's "one of America's best restaurants" and "a fine-dining astonishment!"  21 unsurpassed sample tasting courses that don't necessarily remain the same each time you go as... More

Went there the other day with another couple to celebrate my wife's birthday. This was their first time and they loved it. We have been going there once a year since 2010 but this was our first time going there in December. They stayed in the Cottage while we stayed in the Honeysuckle. As usual, the dinner was just fantastic!... More

Almost overwhelming. We had prepared ourselves for this dinner by reading reviews and articles. This evening of tastings of local foods was an exercise in a sensory experience that is rarely encountered in eating out. Overall, it was delightful, although I must add that the "lightly cured rockfish" on the first night was a bit overpowering and as a result... More

This is an experience not to be missed. The presentation, the flavors and the incorporation of contrasting textures boldly exhibit the talents of the staff and the restaurant. Blaine Wetzel is so creative, it is worth the effort to get there.

Fantastic in every way, and in every sense. All the most positive reviews here are correct. The morning after, we chatted with another couple checking out, and one of them said, Everything is wonderful, even ... that birch tea? How can birch tea be so amazing? If you can get here, and you can afford the (understandably) steep tariff, you... More

We've had various tasting menus during the course of a long dining career, but never one like this. Eight courses has always been okay, five a cinch; but twenty-something? Don't get all uptight, now - each course is minuscule, sometimes just a teaspoonful at the bottom of a deepish plate. Mostly seafood bites, liked smoked clams or mussels in some... More

This is a 23 course tasting menu with some of the most creative food you can imagine, all of which is either grown or sourced locally. Highlights included venison tartar, king salmon and more wonderful dishes than I can remember. It's not inexpensive and if you don't live on Lummi, you'll need to stay over at the Inn or somewhere... I just reviwed this under the other Willows Inn, but to summarize it, the restaurant is amazing - the entire food experience is amazing; but the room is ok (nice enough, nothing to rave about).
