This is one of Long Beach's favorite hangouts for locals and visitor alike. There is no indoor eating-outdoor picnic tables only, they open by 11:30 daily and close when they run out of food or around 3:00 p.m. Nice variety of choices, good meats, fresh made daily homemade bread.

I've tried this place a couple of times in my quest for good sandwich and salad lunch options on the peninsula. I tried one of each at Surfer Sands on different occasions. The Philly Cheese Steak style sandwich was OK, but pretty small and not a lot of meat for the price. I'm glad I had taken it home to... More

its a great lunch when heading to the beach. Sit outside at a picnic table. Casual. Great subs on homemade buns, good smoothies. Coasties, surfers, cops eat here.

Surfer Sands makes one of the best Phillie Sub I have eaten. Have had several different ones but the best is the Big Guhoona. They also will make you a sandwich to order. It is not speedy, but worth the wait. Considering size of the subs, while not cheap, it is worth it. Their smoothies are very good.

Stopped for lunch at this lunch truck type sandwich place. Would like to review the food, but we stood behind another group for ten minutes while people were working inside, but no orders were taken. Finally left and had a great lunch at the Full Circle Caféin Ocean Park.

Over priced and over cooked. And full of very hot oil (fish and chips) At least it was hot and served with a smile.

Fresh made bread, innovative sandwiches, unbeatable prices - what's not to love. Positioned across the street from a chain sandwich shop, it only enhances their fare since the food is just so darn good! I was full before I was finished but ate the rest because I just couldn't stop myself! Delicious!

Fresh home made bread, crisp ingredients. The best Philly cheese steaks and smoothies you'll find on the peninsula, makes a perfect sack lunch for a picnic. Great price for the quality of food and the sandwiches are Huge you get lunch plus a snack for later. You can tell the owner Jason puts his heart and soul into his business... More

My husband and I tried this place. We shared a turkey combo and a tuna combo. The bread is thick-cut and fresh. There's a chain sub-shop across the road. I can't imagine why anyone would go there unless they don't know about Surfer Sands and don't want to risk the unknown. The sandwiches were very tasty. Their sodas are in... More
