We hadn’t been here in 29 years (no joke), but decided to try a traditional Chinese restaurant instead of the current hybrid Asian fusion places that are currently in vogue. Yen Ching is trapped in time. The same waterfall greeted us upon entering and all...the furniture looked the same as it did nearly 3 decades ago. Despite the fact that there were only a few other diners, it took almost that long for our server showed up. In fact, I had to get out of my seat and talk to the hostess before our server finally showed up to take our order. We ordered a combination dinner where we could select two entries along with fried egg rolls, wonton soup and steamed rice. Food was ok but nothing special. We got plenty of it though so had to take half of it home. It may be another 29 years before I go back.More

Visited the restaurant at 5:00 so it wasn't too busy. The food was just okay. Ordered fried rice and it looked more like steamed and only a few vegetables. The service was surprisingly poor. Twice I walked through the restaurant to find a server but...no one was in sight. Not worth going back for me. The decor is dated and in need of updating.More

Egg rolls were great the Garlic Beef was not worthy of 1 star. The beef was OLD and TOUGH even with fresh Chinese peas the dish was not up to Yen Ching long standing reputation.

My husband and I have been coming to this eatery for over 30 years. The food is consistently tasty and delicious. Yen Ching Chicken is my all time favorite but you must try the Hot and Sour Soup too. You can’t beat it.

Been out family spot since 90’s. Wonderful service and excellent Chinese cuisine. A tradition and only place we go for the best!

We were pleased when we first ate at Yen Ching, having relocated to the area and needing to find good quality Chinese food. However, the last 2 visits have been less than impressive. The first of which was in the last afternoon, and we chalked...it up to staff break-time between meals, however last night it was dinner time.... the service was very poor and the food was nothing to cause us to spend our money at the establishment in the future. Now looking for another vendor in the area.More

4 of us went for dinner; Gen chicken, which was suppose to be spicy, was not and it was so hard that my friend could not cut it with a fork or chew the whole pieces. It was like they had gotten it out of...a freezer and micro'd it. Sweet and sour pork was the same for hardness and lack of taste; like it had come out of a bag in a freezer and then micro'd it. Curried chicken had NO flavor and was in a soupy mess. Almond deep fried chicken was swimming in a "canned or jar" type of chicken sauce. What a huge disappointment with a large cost.More

Best chow mein I have ever eaten! I am still dreaming about it. And the sweet and sour pork was fabulous, too. Service was slow because they were short-staffed, but the waitress/cashier apologized many times.

Nice place and the food was pretty good. We enjoyed ourselves and will likely go back. Service was good but we had to wait a bit for the check.

Food is wonderful, service a bit slow, but overall, a great place to eat. Large selection of foods to choose from, they also have lounge drinks to offer, and their tea is wonderful too!
