I love St. James. Starbucks gets old and disappointed with their consistency when making a capuccino. I like supporting a local small business. They are slow but the drinks are perfectly made with care. The vibe is calm and if you have kids or like to play games they have a huge game library. Also outdoor seating that is quieter... More

A great place for a small business meeting with a colleague... Much better than the more typical coffee place... A bit more expensive but worth it

We stopped in before a concert at the Kirkland Performance Center. What a delightful surprise! A nice atmosphere to sit and relax. Some creative drinks - mine was a Hawaiian something -it was actually pretty good! The barista wasn't the fastest in town, on the other hand he was patient with questions and the drink was very good - worth... More

Highly recommended. Nice atmosphere and strong coffee. They also have board games and such. Cool art of the walls and I think they employ teens from the local teen center.

While our coffees were tasty, we waited at least twenty minutes to receive our order. There was only one lone barista/cashier on a busy Sunday morning, trying to juggle the morning crowd. He was extremely frazzled to say the least.

This is a cozy place to share a latte or coffee. The staff is especially friendly and they don't mind if you linger over your drinks and stay awhile. Many people bring their computer and get some work done while sipping their latte.

This espresso shop is a friendly neighborhood establishment in downtown Kirkland. Locally owned, congenial baristas who are long established, free Wi-Fi, great beverages, and comfortable seating, what more could you ask for? They also serve sandwiches as well as the normal muffins, bagels and other breakfast goodies. After the sun is over the yardarm, they also serve wine and beer.

Not only is the coffee amazing, the service is great, and the atmosphere relaxing. I could easily spend an hour here browsing through my newspaper or laptop, while sipping on the best coffee Kirkland has to offer. If you haven't tried St. James - give it a try.

I like this place. The owner is regularly there working and interacting with people. There are tables and cozy chairs to chill in. They also have free wifi.

If you are in search for a place to relax and sit down, conduct a muted business meeting, or just in for some nice baked good, S:t James is da place. Comfy environment, large leather chairs, tons of magazines/newspapers. Likely a tad pricier than SBUX, but this is not a "coffee and run" place, but somewhere where you truly sit... More
