The experience was middle of the road. The food did not feel fine dining, even though the prices were. Yeah, if you feel like it, give it a shot. Perhaps we had a high expectation or hit the restaurant on a bad day? We sat...outside to enjoy the water view (which was great) but the decor was pretty dated. Apologies guys, $250 for four, for a 1.5 course meal and $50 bot. of wine, seemed a little rich for what was on offer. BTW, Cedars talks of their salad bar, but the salad bar here was very average (at least on the day we got there). A real bad sign for me from a hygiene perspective is when the utensils for the salad is 'in the salad'. They have a GREAT location and should do better as it can be fantastic with just a little more.More

Such a gorgeous place to have dinner but be prepared for the slowest services of your life. After waiting for silverware forever I just got up and got my own. Might as well filled up my own drinks too.

First, always, the positive. The greeting and seating was great as I wanted a window seat. Seats were available everywhere. I was VERY surprised the place was not packed. I had not come to this restaurant for dinner in the dining room in at least...5 years. Salad bar was fabulous as I love green! My steak was seasoned and cooked perfect. The waitress was wonderful. The cuke salad with asparagus was delicious. The "rice pilaf" was complete crap...over salted, over cooked. And the mashed potatoes were opaque (too much water...apparently the potatoes were not well drained). I told the waitress to tell the chef. It would have been nice to offer me a fresh small container of their rice pilaf to go BUT...nothing. I will not go back to the dining room. And by the looks of the dining room, I am not the only one.More

The restaurant is under new ownership and we hoped the tradition of quality would continue. I don’t write one-star reviews without trying to work with the store first. Two honest attempts to contact were not returned by management. Arriving early for drinks before dinner we...had to argue the hostess into letting us sit at a table in the lounge; the tables were ‘for eating guests’ and ‘this table is reserved for the owners’. We wanted to sit by the fire but the fireplace was closed off, blocked with cardboard and tape. Please sit at the bar. Could we be seated in the dining room early? No. Well, okay. You can have a table in the lounge. Can we carry our tab into the dining room? No, close it out please. So dinner… Please hurry and order, the kitchen closes at eight. The food was only okay, not ‘fine dining’. No lingering over coffee. Can we close out this check? Now the RESTAURANT is closing at eight. In my experience, in many places dining is just getting started at eight. Overall, disappointed as we had high hopes. Disappointed also there was no interest in listening to a patron.More

I called today to make reservations to watch the Christmas boat show and have a nice dinner. We love the Clam Chowder here. A lady by the name of Kim answered the phone and was very Rude. I asked to make reservations for Saturday night...and was told they are booked and are taking reservations and adding them to a list. Ok that was fine I understand that. But I then said “I tried calling yesterday and no answer.” Kim response was “Well did you call during business hours?” I said “yes, I did. I also messaged on Facebook and was told to call back and leave a voicemail.” Kim replied “you should of left a voicemail.” Snarky tone the minute I said “ hi I’m calling to make reservations for Saturday night.” . I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor. Kim replied “I’m that person!”. I said “wow really? That is very sad.” It went on. I understand people have bad days. But this is YOUR job to answer questions people have. And answer with a professional tone. I work in the medical field and get ask many questions and yelled at. But I always reply professionally and with no snarky tone. Said that a “Boss” is that rude to their customers. Really disappointed my husband and I love this place.More

We have been coming to Cedars at Clover Island for many years now; they've changed owners over the years. Most recent visit was with friends out of town, and they were staying next door at the Clover Island Inn. The place is very large, with...the best view to the river and both Cable Bridge and the Blue Bridge. Amazing patio for good weather. We got the window table we requested. Our server, Jessica, was very friendly and attentive. She gets an A! We ordered the halibut dinner special and the 20 oz pork chop! Not sure if both sat under the warming lamp too long, they were a bit on the "over done" side. Good flavor. Our friends ordered the seafood fettucine and the 8 oz prime rib. Ended up taking some home. Portions were very generous. Their clam chowder that comes with the entrée is quite filling; with lots of clams. We absolutely loved the warm bread served. So warm and fresh and soft! Ordered some cocktails and coffee drinks. Unfortunately we did not save room for desserts!More

We ate at Cedars last night. The view was incredible with one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. My husband and I shared the seafood fettuccine which was delicious and filled with seafood. Definitely large enough to share! But the star of the...show was our server! She was amazing and made our experience so much fun! Wish I would have asked her name for this review. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.More

Went there for dinner and drinks with friends. The place is run down and dated. All staff was unprofessional/rude. My wife’s mojito tasted of straight soda water. When we asked our server for some simple syrup she responded “I know she made it right. I...watched her do it. You can have more sugar if you want.” And then brought sugar to the table and stood there menacingly as we tried to salvage the terrible drink. At 8:45 a staff person stepped out on the patio and shouted “in 3 minutes I’m going to have to throw you all out of here.” No professionalism at all. The food was pretty good, but I’ll chose to spend My money elsewhere.More

The new owners of Cedars are doing a fantastic job keeping this place alive amidst Covid and the lockdowns that have forced restaurants to only offer outdoor dining in the middle of winter and takeout. We went to watch the “unofficial” lighted boat parade. Which...we look forward to every year. Cedars is right on the water so the view was perfect! It was a very cold night but they had propane heaters at almost every table we were lucky to get a spot. They were hit by a huge rush to watch the boats leave the dock but our waitress and the owners were running around doing their best to make up for it. As for the food, we ordered a lot of appetizers and it all came out hot and delicious! I recommend the smoked trout appetizer, mozzarella sticks or crab cakes. All soo delicious! We didn’t have entries but have before and they make a really great steak, fish is also on point, you can’t go wrong! This is an extremely hard time for locally owned small businesses and they are doing their best to keep their business alive by offering outdoor dining and takeout. On a night like tonight if they were able to offer inside seating they would have been able to feed over 200 people, sadly that is not the case right now. Go show your support and don’t be snotty if you have to wait a little longer because it’s worth the wait!More

We were excited to go here and have an early Valentine's Day dinner, Thursday, the day before the holiday and see if things had changed with the new owner. We sat in the lounge while we waited for our table. The atmosphere was relaxed, the...fire place going, and the service was great. Things changed when we got to our table for dinner. The lighting was so bright we felt like we were in a grocery store instead of a fine restaurant. And when the waitress told us they were OUT OF Prime rib at 6pm, we decided to leave. Poor planning for a holiday weekend. 😳More
