We use to love this little restaurant. But there is a change in ownership, now this is literally the worse restaurant I have ever been too. The waiter/owner is RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! I took my sister there to celebrate her birthday. I ordered their special...which says wide egg noodles with shrimp. When the dish came, it was the regular thin noodle and very spicy. I asked the waiter about the noodle and that the menu did not mention it is spicy and the shrimp is so overcooked that it literally like chewing on leather. Instead of apologizing and see if i want to order something else, he literally yelled at me telling me that's just how it is and that no one ever had problem with this dish. I asked for the manager, he rudly said, i am the owner. My sister had to jump in and ask him to stop being so rude, it's her birthday. To that he rudly responded "I don’t care it's your birthday." I said no restaurant treats their customer like you. To that, he told us to go to those restaurant then. If there is a negative star, I would totally rate this restaurant with that. Their food is terrible and their service is worse than terrible.More

I have been to Umi before, and loved their service and food. Took our friends there for dinner tonight. The rudest service I have ever come across - we left without ordering anything. 1. We tried calling them to confirm the timing, but the phone...was out of service. 2. All websites mention their closing time as 9:00pm. We got there at 8:15pm. We asked them for a table at which point they could have told us politely that they will not take order beyond 8:30pm (or could have even asked us to leave politely, that we are too late for the dinner and we would have understood), but instead they decided to hold a grudge against us and give us the death stare. We thought the waiter is just having a bad day. 3. We asked the waiter about the outside seating, at which point he rudely pointed us towards the board and asked us to read the information and do as instructed. 4. The sun had set so I used the lever to start folding their umbrella shade on our table. The waiter came towards me and shouted rudely that we must leave it open and not change restaurant's setting. I apologized but also requested him to not be rude with us. The waiter went inside but kept giving us the death stare every now and then. 5. I had a toddler who decided to crawl on their floor, and while most people would spare a kid even on their worst possible day, the waiter decided to give him a death stare in response to my son's smile while crawling towards the waiter. 6. They did not come to our table at all for about 10 minutes, and suddenly, at 8:25pm, the waiter shouted from the restaurant door to our outside table (he did not even show the courtesy of walking up to our table) that we have 5 minutes to place our order, and when the food arrives, we should wrap up fast, because they want to get done with cleaning and leave by 9pm. 7. We decided to get up and leave. We told him politely that we are leaving, at which he responded "Great", and when I told him that he could be a little polite when dealing with his customers, and should let them know nicely about his concerns, he rudely said - "Dont worry about it"More

Delicious food and fabulous atmosphere makes this tucked away gem in Issaquah a must try. One of us had a beef noodle soup that was scrumptious and the other a caramelized chicken concoction with rice. We also had green beans. Outdoor seating by a little...pond and waterfall added to the ambience quite nicely.More

With social distancing and limitations, this place gives you the opportunity to eat outside in a nice setting. The food and service was great. If you're in old Issaquah, it's worth a try.

First time here and at first it was a little hard to find since you first walk through a bamboo gate into a wonderful Japanese garden, past a spa down to the restaurant. First nice setting and the inside of the restaurant was very nice....We order a side of Gyoza that was crisp on the outside and tender and flavorful inside. Their dipping sauce was also pretty special. The main course was minced pork, dried shredded pork, a fried egg (cooked perfectly) over steamed rice with pickled green, bak choy, cabbage and marinated tofu. The spices and the mingling of all the different flavors and textures was amazing.More

The restaurant is actually called Cafe Umi and it’s connected to Spa Chi. Good selection of Taiwanese options. Hot dumpling wonton soup and umi fried rice were flavorful and well executed. Nice size portions and expedient service. Will definitely be on my visit again list...after some hiking in Issaquah. Try the taro bubble tea with boba!More

This is a small family place, impeccably decorated with a variety of asian dishes and american beer. There is a outside garden with seating and a few well-behaved kids running around. I was quite charmed. I had a Pho and my son a curry -...both quite fine. Certainly would go back.More

After discovering this restaurant as we drove down Bush Street, we researched it on the Internet and, based on the positive reviews, decided to try it. We're glad that we did. This is a very small restaurant with a fairly limited menu but the staff...is very friendly, the setting is attractive, it's convenient to Old-Town Issaquah, the prices are good and, most importantly, the food is excellent. My wife enjoyed her Pork dish, while my Wonton soup was at the top of any that I've ever had. Bottom Line - this definitely is not higher-end dining but, in our judgment, is an excellent choice for a delicious lunch at reasonable prices.More

I like this place a lot. Originally I went in just to have a coffee, and they do that just fine: espressos, cappuccinos, etc. What's fun is they offer a range of typical and varied Asian casual cuisine. Soup noodles, udon, rice dishes, wonton, and...asian style desserts. When the weather is nice you can sit outside. Well, that's a few months away yet. It's walkable from the library, community center, the pool, and much of downtown Olde Issaquah. The ladies who work there are polite and friendly. It's the kind of place that I'll find an excuse to stop in, if I'm in the area and have some time to kill.More

From the outside, I thought I was in the wrong place and I had never had Taiwanese food. I had some noodle soup which was delicious and very cheap. The Taiwanese sausage was also quite good though very unique. Overall, good food and a great...find as there are not a lot of Taiwanese restaurants around.More

Great Patio and outdoors. Inside decor can be better. Remove home furnishings, and make it more upscale.

I had the Taro soup noodles that day and they were very delicious!!! The boba milk tea brewed their own tea was good as well. The interior was nice with cute decorations and very clean. I feel like I come back to my home in...Asia and was able to be relaxed during the lunch. Defenitely I will come back again soon.More
