Often times I will look for a cafe or greasy spoon in a small town we are passing through and am often disappointed. This was not the case at The Portside Cafe. We all ordered cheeseburgers and from the first bite till the last, the table fell silent with only the sounds of contentment. I recommend a cup of clam... More

My wife and I had read fairly good reviews so we decided to have lunch. We were "greeted" by a girl with no smiles, no verbal greeting, just a point to where to sit. The table, silverwear and floor were dirty. Burger had no personality or taste, very bland. I suppose if it were the only restaurant in town, and... More

Small, local spot. Not fancy, but great, friendly staff. We were on a road trip, staying at the Salt Hotel. Had a great breakfast before heading out on the road.

This was the absolute worst food I have experienced on the Peninsula. I had chicken strips which the menu said was 2 pieces for a small or 4 pieces for a large. What arrived were several little chunks of greasy breaded dark meat. It was literally inedible even after I pulled off all the breading. The side salad consisted of... More

We went for lunch. After all, the locals go there, must be good. It's right in town, before the port and easy parking out front. Ordered the sandwich, pastrami. It came on a delicious french roll big enough for two people. Very good! Had the chowder, it was good too. Not better than The Wet Dog but close. Needed more... More

Locals eat here, one of the owners is your server, the food is good, the talk is normal, mostly about people and things in the area, and the feeling you walk away with is satisfaction. Clean and in a good location. This is the kind of place you like to find.

Stopped a few places before ending up at the Portside. Did not expect it to be such a great experience based on the places we ate at before. Totally unexpected. The furniture and plates are mismatched, and it does not have a fine dining appeal, but the staff is amazing and the food is even better. The owners were working... More

Don't expect a fine dining experience, just a diner with friendly service and good food. But having said that, the food is good and the service friendly.

Very friendly and pleasant employees work here. Food was served quickly as well. Cafe has beach decorations and pictures taken of events, such as seals on the downtown sidewalks.

Thank Louise B

We are a small family owned cafe, serving breakfast and lunch. We strive for the home-cooked taste and feel of a small town cafe. With fresh baked bread, homemade jams, hand spanked burgers. and locally sourced seafood, we strive for quality and taste. Stop in and you might find a local fisherman with a fish tale or two!
