I've had a favorite Chinese restaurant in Federal Way for 22 years and decided to try this instead for lunch. The hot and sour soup was very spicy and meatless and had good flavor. I had Mongolian beef and appreciated that there was a good...amount of hoisin in the sauce. The beef was very tender. Overall the portions were small but the prices were lower commensurately. My companion had the General Tso's chicken and he was less impressed. Food was served quickly, but waiter pretty much disappeared after delivering the food. I'd have no major objection to eating here again, unless I was really hungry, but I still prefer my old favorite.More

Great variety of food, all very good. Lots of food for 4 people! Did not have to wait very long for food to be prepared.

Once a go to choice for my family has turned into a total fail. Food once always good has turned into a grease pit of take out.

My wife and I went here for lunch. My wife had the Mongolian beef and I had the General Tso's chicken. She had the egg drop soup and I had the hot and sour soup. Everything was very good!! Soup was hot and served fast...and the lunch meal were right behind - hot and yummy. Service was very good. They charge for hot tea but it was only a couple of dollars. Total for lunch was less than $20. We'll definitely be back.More

It had been quite a few years since I stepped foot in this local Chinese restaurant, but I decided to try it again this week. I ordered House Special Fried Rice which included chicken, pork and shrimp for $9.95. Generous portion, very fresh ingredients, plenty...of shrimp and nice bits of meat...but unfortunately there was no flavor. It had been somehow 'Americanized' so no evidence of any type of chinese spices at all. It filled me up but there are much better Chinese restaurants around. Sorry, won't be back.More

I'm picky about my Asian food. If it's too Americanized I tend to shop around. Magic Wok actually makes real Chinese food. who would've thought. LOL They make other dishes but my family loves the house chow mein with everything in it (seafood, poultry and...pork), then the house special fried rice, and my favorite mandarin chicken reminds me of my childhood. This is really great to take friends there too. Ordering and delivery can be a pain if they don't know you so be patient, but say it slow, make sure she repeats it and then order. They deliver within 3 mile radius and have a web page. The food is the best and great prices for what is offered at other places nearby. There are several and none compare to this. I promise you this will be your favorite Chinese place in Federal Way. It is now ours.More

About the only change in visits since the 80s is the familiar server has moved on - the food continues to be excellent Szechuan style along with a great lunch deal. Hidden away in Twin Lakes near a Rite Aid, it is our favorite for...South Sound Chinese food.More

The Magic Wok is in a strip mall in the Twin Lakes area of Federal Way. We have been coming to this restaurant for several decades. The food and service are always reliable. We like the family-style specials for $14.95 per person because you get...an appetizer, soup, one main dish per person, fried rice, and tea. This is a lot more food than most people can eat so you end up with left overs for lunch or dinner the next day. This works out to being very economical. The food is good, but it is not excellent. Sometimes the sauces overwhelm the dish, and at other times the food is a little bland. Perhaps bland is what most people want so it may be difficult for the chef to satisfy everybody. Living in this neighborhood, the Magic Wok is a good alternative to burgers and tacos.More

On a very rainy day a friend took me to lunch at Magic Wok in Federal Way. I had Chicken with Szechuan Garlic Sauce and he had Orange Chicken. They both came with a soup. Everything was very flavorful and we appreciated the portions that...were not so much that you are wasting food, but enough that you were full. The owner was friendly and helpful. She waited on us like we were in her home. The atmosphere was quiet and clean. It was a great lunch. I will definitely return for some more food since the menu has so much to choose from..More
