As said: Rural and hometown dinning at its best. And a down to local farming history bent outside and on all the walls. A bit of history with unadorned vittles.
For $12 I expect tasty food and good size portions. This place had neither. Very plain hashbrowns, tasted straight out of frozen package. My eggs were over cooked and service was poor. The ham slice was very good but very small.
This place was recommended by the sales clerk at the local ACE hardware store. We had a short wait while they cleared and cleaned(covid cleaning) a table for us. The wait staff was busy serving the tables that were occupied but acknowledge us when we...stepped in the door. The menu was pretty large and I had the cold homemade meat loaf sandwich and it was huge and very good. Ended up taking half of it home. Did try the excellent soup and we split an order of loaded potato skins. Wife had a huge salad, part of which went home with us. Service was excellent. The young lady checked back a couple times and refilled our drinks. All in all a very good place to eat. Will probably go back for dinner, want to try the chicken fried steak, was the item the clerk at ACE recommend.More
It used to be a treat for us to eat here, but the prices keep rising and the quality of food keeps going down. My husband ordered a bowl of soup with his meal, and it was thicker than wallpaper paste, and tasted like what...wallpaper paste might taste like. We finally said something to the waitress, who brought him a bowl of a different kind of soup, but it wasn't edible either. My salad had a lot of brown leaves in it and I couldn't finish it. We just don't want to eat here any more.More
Great parking and location...service fast and efficient. They have yak on menu and I tried for first time, was really good...the taste of real meat. My cow patty biscuit was melt in your mouth buttery fabulous. This place is a great eatery in a small...town and worth a stop at every time I can...More
I don't like runny whites in my eggs. The eggs Benedict sounded good to me. Before I ordered the dish, I asked the waitresses if the cook would fix my eggs so when I cut into them my tummy wouldn't churn if the whites weren't...done. She replied, medium well? I said yes. Oh my goodness, the English muffins were good, a thick slice of ham on top with eggs cooked just right for me. The hollandaise sauce wasn't over spicy or to much mustard. It came with hash browns also. Waitress was attentive to the 6 of us. One of our friends ordered one pancake. It was the size of the dinner plate. None of us left hungry that's for sure.More
Eat here many times the service is wonderful and the food is great. Wonderful decor many old items. like the jello molds on the outside walls.
My husband and I have stopped twice now while traveling to Olympia and have enjoyed our lunches both times. This is a cozy Mom and Pop with plain old-fashioned goodness! We haven’t been disappointed with the food or our servers. Fair prices for good food....Can’t complain!More
We arrived at the Rusty Tractor for lunch at 12:30 pm.The restaurant was busy and we got one of the last tables.Ordered two chicken salads. We waited 45 min. Well I am diabetic and had a bad stomach ache by this this time. The salad was...very good. After leaving the restaurant I was very dizzy....meaning my blood sugar dropped very low and should have eaten sooner. Why was the kitchen staff so slow in getting the meal out ?More
