We were pleasantly surprised when we dined here a couple of days ago. Food is very tasty! Not like your other typical Mexican food restaurants. Fresh ingredients and go can taste the experience of the chef. I ordered the chili verdes enchiladas, chili verde sauce...was so delicious, well made. Chicken was white meat and tender. Black beans and rice were great too! Hubby had the burrito and was very happy. Highly recommend! Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is located in a strip mall at the end.More

Your first hint you're in the right place is when your chips arrive, unbidden, swimming in mole coloradito. The menu lets you know you're not in a generic Mexican restaurant: tacos de calabacita, enfrijoladas, pollo campesino, tlayudas. (Vegetarian option on the tlayudas.) Thumbs up for...the dark mole. Close your eyes when you're eating the enmoladas and you could think you're in Oaxaca. Modest family restaurant on a suburban corner. Actually - five corners. From the roundabout, look for the strip mall in the southwest. That's Bowdoin. Really nice people.More

Small, busy, good service, good food, good deserts. Very much more southern Mexican, with a substantial trace of central American flavors. We were there early (5PM) but there were already people waiting when we left.

We recently stopped here for a late lunch. Started off with complimentary chips & mole sauce, very tasty. I had the Enmoladas, rolled tortillas with chicken covered with a rich and spicy mole and two fried eggs. Outstanding! My wife had the Tacos Dorados, chicken,...cheese & mole sauce. Very good. Locally owned and very friendly staff. Will be back.More

We've only eaten lunch here, because it's near our office, but we love it. The food is the flavorful food of Oaxaca, and the people who work there are also from Oaxaca, and they are welcoming and sweet. The food is very good, and not...the usual generic Mexican food you so often find. We never tire of it.More

As much as we hope this place with thrive, we hope Guy Fieri never discovers this place. What an amazing array of fantastic flavors! Not a big place, but the menu will take some time to get through. If the thought of sauteed grasshoppers puts...you off your feed, try the molotes and hope they haven't been sold out! And if you've never had real mole, the tamal Oaxaqueno is an excellent introduction. Once you've tried that, give yourself a different taste treat with the enchiladas verdes. They make a great relleno and the enmoladas...oh, baby... Oh, and if that weren't enough, they make a gorgeous hand-crafted margarita! Go, but don't let Fieri find out!More

This restaurant deserves to be full every night. They make excellent Oaxacan recipes and have a good selection of mezcal and specialty cocktails available. We are so lucky to finally have a place near us for tlayudas, mole and tamales done in banana leaves. Their...location means you have to want to find them but it is definitely worth a detour from downtown Edmonds or Lynnwood if you appreciate authentic Mexican cooking. We're already planning to take our family there to show them what we love about Oaxacan food, hoping a few of them will go with us on our next trip there. We've visited Oaxacan restaurants in Seattle and I think Casa Oaxaca might be even better than those. Definitely try one of their special cocktails if you enjoy mezcal or tequila and don't forget to ask for the seasoned salt, which enhances the flavor and is great sprinkled on an orange or lime slice. The coloradito mole drizzled on the house-made tortilla trips is also delicious.More

I never order mole in the northwest because I am always disappointed. The mole at Casa Oaxaca is rich and sweet, with a cinnamon twist. The chapulines are really, well, a dream come true. The flavor, the freshness (you don't want to eat stale chapulines)...is more than I could have expected in Edmonds. The tlayuda is awesome. They have mezcal too!More

This restaurant just opened at Five Corners a few months ago. I was excited to try it and I was not disappointed. We had enchiladas with Coloradito and they were absolutely wonderful. Their mole sauce is excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I...read another review that stated the portions were rather small. Actually, they are smaller than the HUGE portions you might get at other (not so authentic) Mexican restaurants - portions that might make you feel uncomfortably full. The amount of food served was just right. We will definitely be back!More
