Referred by a local here for breakfast. Small place with big portions. Be patient! The food is made from scratch, per order and they are busy. Impressed with staff who were efficient and professional despite a long line at the door and a few grouch tourists. Not fast food, but the wait is worth it.

Winds were blowing 30 last Sunday. My friends and I needed a table for seven. The only table was to be 45 minutes . We bummed around town killing time and although the guy taking names was a bit snotty my girlfriend went back to let him know we had returned. He said the table wasn't ready yet. she looked... More

During season, people are lined up at this popular eatery for breakfast and brunch. My omelet was gigantic and I was not able to finish it. It was delicious as were the breakfast potatoes that accompanied it. Our only issue was that the server was overwhelmed. Our coffees were not refilled promptly and we never received our promised glasses of... More

We had read this place gets super busy, so we stopped early (about 8:30) and got here just in time. By the time we got our food there was a long waiting list. The food is good breakfast fare. The signature skillets which are an egg scramble are super big. We could have split one and been fine, The food... More

We were searching for a restaurant with "standard" breakfast choices. A few of the other restaurants on Orcas offered a majority of specialty egg dishes but not a variety of other breakfast items. Island Skillet has just about any breakfast item you could ask for and the coffee and service are both excellent.

Be warned that estimated wait times are wildly optimistic. "30 minutes" means one hour. Breakfasts are large portions but not that different from what you would make at home. The pancakes are like large bread-flavored frisbees. I didn't really understand what the fuss was about.

Island skillet has a good solid breakfast menu with lots of variety. The plates are good and are quite generous. The flavors are a little muted and the pancakes can be overcooked. They have an 5' high rack full of hot sauces. The hot chocolate is very nice. You will be well fed at Island Skillet.
