We were searching for a restaurant with "standard" breakfast choices. A few of the other restaurants on Orcas offered a majority of specialty egg dishes but not a variety of other breakfast items. Island Skillet has just about any breakfast item you could ask for and the coffee and service are both excellent.

Be warned that estimated wait times are wildly optimistic. "30 minutes" means one hour. Breakfasts are large portions but not that different from what you would make at home. The pancakes are like large bread-flavored frisbees. I didn't really understand what the fuss was about.

Island skillet has a good solid breakfast menu with lots of variety. The plates are good and are quite generous. The flavors are a little muted and the pancakes can be overcooked. They have an 5' high rack full of hot sauces. The hot chocolate is very nice. You will be well fed at Island Skillet.

Service was swift and the guys polite. My wife got the pancakes and I got the Chorizo Skillet. Her 3 hotcakes were all visibly VERY dark and all tasted burned. My skillet looked great and the surface food was good...but the eggs/cheese actually touching the skillet were burned badly and not completely edible. Neither of us could finish the meals.

This place is one of the only spots open for breakfast on the island. They have excellent food at very fair prices. Their breakfast sandwiches are as delicious as they are filling, and the waffles with fresh fruit, yum! Great, friendly, fast service and a nice casual atmosphere makes this a favorite spot for us locals.

A good, safe bet for breakfast I'm Eastsound. It's traditional american breakfast served in a no-frills cafe environment. The "scrambles" are played on a piping-hot iron skillet which keeps breakfast hot throughput the meal. Allows a leisurely breakfast. They make a heck of a Benedict. Order one with avocado. They include a very generous portion of perfectly ripe avocado

*inexpensive for area *great breakfast (great flavor, ample portions) *accommodating, courteous service *casual country atmosphere My husband and I stopped at the Island Skillet on a Wednesday, mid morning. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated at a nice table within 5 minutes. The breakfast menu had most of the staples ( pancakes, eggs, French toast, etc...), and also... More
