Food is the very definition of mediocre. Other restaurants on Orcas (Catkin Cafe, Mia's, and most notably Hogstone) go out of their way to source eggs from the farmer down the road, oysters from right around the cove, etc. Madrona Bar & Grill does not seem to be one of them. Service is similarly indifferent. Prices are steep, even more... More

As far as pricing goes, like a lot of restaurants on the islands, Madrona was a bit high. I had a chicken breast sandwich and salad, which were good. My daughter's coleslaw, however, was so overly spiced that it drowned out the flavor of the cabbage and dressing. Her fish and chips were all right. Others had burgers, which they... More

This local eatery has some of the best oysters anywhere. The Po' Boy sandwich with oysters fried in panko over a bed of cole slaw on a good hoagie was superb accompanied by a local IPA as good as any in Seattle or Portland. The crab bisque was heavenly. The day was brisk so we had to eat inside but... More

We had a patio table outside so enjoyed the view while having lunch here. The food was very good, however, the service a bit lacking. Our server appeared to be new and a bit frustrated. All in all, delicious food made up for it.

A friend and I popped in here for dinner and it was busy, but despite not having reservations they got us seated in the bar. The bloody Mary was good. I ordered a spinach salad with salmon and my friend ordered a chicken Caesar salad. Both were fair. Service was slow, which was fine, but our server wasn't very friendly.... More

I am local, so have been to Madrona many times. This time they were quite slow, and had taken so long to serve that eventually I had to leave after over an hour, without having time to finish my lunch. The chicken on their signature sandwich seemed as though it was cooking through that time, as it was tough and... More

A little disappointing. Food was good, we ate on the deck and enjoyed beautiful views. Service was slow, disappointed to learn that happy hour pricing only served at bar (tough with kids). Since when does happy hour priced drinks equal smaller drinks?

Fabulous view! I had the Fish and Chips & loved it. The local IPA on tap was also very good. My wife had the roasted portobello sandwich and really liked it. Friendly and attentive wait staff.

Madrona was great! We sat outside, great service, huge spinach salad, delicious chicken sandwich, and yummy crab bisque. We would definitely return.
