Many regulars frequent this place. All american breakfasts and great hamburgers. Oh, don't forget the milkshakes

It was a cold morning in December when we came in for breakfast, and only the space heaters kept us from being really uncomfortable. The place was nearly full, and with good reason: the food is excellent, and portions are large. I had my usual bacon and eggs, with no complaints. I don't know how the one server kept up... More

Jack's is a very popular place in Des Moines. Some mornings you cannot find a place to sit. Down home atmosphere, old style tables and chairs, old pictures on the walls and it is GREAT! I love to go here and feel comfortable and relaxed with all the regulars. Usually I order the chicken fried steak and eggs, or Eggs... More

I love small diners and wanted to like this place. But after two lackluster breakfasts, I,'ve concluded its more a dive than a diner. So so food, dirty decor, all point to the fact that, sadly, this place is in decline. Skip it.

After checking out Jack's on Saturday morning for brunch, I can honestly say that Jack no longer owns this place. The place was nearly deserted when we arrived which was a bad sign but we decided to give them a chance. There were only 3 people running the entire place. A woman taking orders and waiting tables and taking payments... More

I always eat and bring the family here when I'm in the area. Always love/enjoy their food. Would recommend over Denny's or Ihop.

Feels like a bit of nostalgia, small town diner with your basics. Great place for down to earth breakfast, solid service. Atmosphere is your typical small town cafe/diner, nothing fancy gets the job done!

Great breakfast at a low price. A mom and pop store front without a view. Try it, you will love the food.

After one morning of our hotel's included continental breakfast, it was time to search for real food! Jack's is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant located in a strip mall, so don't expect anything fancy in terms of decor or atmosphere. Breakfast was typical fare; eggs cooked to order with choice of meat or their skillets, which were decent sized with plenty of... More

From previous reviews I had read, I expected a little more of this restaurant. I anticipated large portions, a homey atmosphere and lots of friends around tables. The latter part was right. There were lots of guys who knew each other, but there were also others blabbing loudly on their cell phones, acting like they were in a phone booth,... More
