Visiting town with my teenage son and stopped for dinner. Friendly host/waiter. Ordered too much food - nacho appetizer we shared could have been our whole meal (they were really tasty, and my son said it was his 2nd favorite guacamole of all time). Not...much room for the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and steamed veggies I ordered, but they were great leftovers. Especially loved the veggies. My son liked his chicken fried streak sandwich and fries - again, saved over half for later. He liked the free refills on hot chocolate. Would go again for sure, and just order the nachos OR entrees.More

This is the kind of authentic, locals place we really want to love when we stumble on to one. But sadly it wasn't to be as not even the great waitress and kitchshy atmosphere could make up for the dreadful food. Corned beef hash with...no onions or peppers and salty as the Dead Sea? Eggs Benedict with close to raw eggs, half toasted english muffins, packaged Hollandaise and dried out hash browns? Cooked coffee? Here's hoping that maybe the regular cook called in sick and they had trouble finding a sub.More

We went for breakfast, and it was tasty and what we expected. It is kind of unassuming from the outside, but business was brisk and we were there in April. I can only imagine how busy things can get in summer season. I had eggs...and bacon and judge the place on how well my sunny-side up eggs are cooked.More

We usually stop here on our way to/back from either washington coast/border. We stopped here for lunch on our way to Whidbey Island and were sorely disappointed at the decline in the quality of the food, the reduced menu, the service, and the significant increase...in prices. Our hamburger patties were overcooked and dry, and had no flavor. There was apparently a minimum staff of servers because we were told to seat ourselves, and then we waited for more than five minutes to get menus or water. The menu us now a single, two-sided, double-spaced laminated piece of paper with only a dozen or so items, down drastically from the previous multi-page menus we've used on prior visits. Not a place I'll stop again. There are other eateries in Cle Elum (other than the obvious fast-food places), so we'll spend our money elsewhere.More

Breakfast was delicious!! I had the "Cottage Grumble" which is biscuits & gravy on top of crispy hash browns & two link sausages. The biscuits are so light and fluffy! Hubz had the chicken fried steak which comes with hash browns, gravy, eggs and a...big beautiful biscuit. He loved it! Servings were huge so we took half for lunch. Service was super friendly & quick. Next time we pass through Cle Elum we are definitely stopping again!! Oh, and we bought a fresh baked pie for later. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!More

We visited this establishment because of the beary good reviews. It is a pleasantly clean café-style place with outstanding food and baked goods. We both had omelets with hash browns and toast. We are big bears and couldn't finish it all! We ordered a cinnamon...bun and rhubarb crisp to go. The service was outstanding with a friendly and attentive staff. We will definitely return on our next trip to Cle Elum.More

This is our go-to breakfast stop when travelling across the state. It is a diner, so expect kitchy diner decor. It's not fancy. But, the food is consistently good. There is a nice sized menu to select from. We have never had a complaint. The...restrooms always seem to be in need of a cleaning. Parking is abundant and easy in and out access to I5.More

Tasteless food. Just...nothing happening on the tongue whatsoever. Even the onions had almost no flavor (old?). I ended up using a massive amount of ketchup and hot sauce just to give it flavor. The scrambled eggs were tired (thick, heavy lumps, no fluff at all),...coffee was super weak (looked like tea it was so light), hashbrowns were way undercooked, and the sausage was sitting in a pool of grease, And again, all flavorless until I covered it in a condiment. Expensive to boot. A guy was playing the slot machine with no mask on - no one said anything.More

This is our go-to stop on the way home from Eastern Washington! It is fantastic comfort food. Lots of choices, and we've had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Friendly service, and really good food. Pot roast was wonderful, so was the pork roast and the...cheeseburger! A huge variety of breakfast choices too!More

Their food is pricey but very very good. We stopped for lunch and had a French dip sandwich and a Reuben. Both were excellent. Fries were delicious as was the potato salad. We got dessert to go because portions were so big. We will return...next time we’re in the area.More
