Definitely country feel. Large, small city restaurant with a bakery attached. Went here the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Service was very nice and friendly. View of the cascades. Large deck. Food was average for any breakfast. Was there about 8:00, but by 8:30 place was 3/4 full. Bakery was very busy customers getting dinner rolls and pies. Advice: if you just... More

My husband & I went to the Black Diamond Restaurant on a recent Sunday to have a good meal and to enjoy the view and the small town ambience. We are a nice & quiet but friendly couple. The only difference from the other customers is that we're interracial but in most of the northwest it's not an issue. The... More

Try the French toast, I really loved it. Service was fast and all items on our order were good. We were there after the All Saints Mass and it was busier than expected, yet they handled it well.

Wikipedia says: "The Black Diamond Bakery achieved regional fame in the 1970s for the quality of its breads and other baked goods, and continues to attract destination shoppers." They still have the breads and baked goods, but my family and I were seated by the bay windows and had a fine meal. The view is of the lovely manicured garden,... More

We stopped in one morning on our way Mt. Rainier. We got a table in the room with the picture window and the patio next door, so the view was nice. Our food was good, liked their cinnamon swirl French toast the best. BDB's well stocked bakery area is just off the front entry. Good variety of breads, rolls, pastries,... More

We love it here-for breakfast, lunch, dinner, any time of day or night-the chef is wonderful! Let's talk about the wait staff and owners-friendly, fun and fabulous! We have never been disappointed. Tonight I had the special grilled salmon salad, and I thought I had died and gone to heaven-gave Pedro a standing ovation! My husband got the prime rib... More

Well known for breakfast, especially on the weekends, give dinner a try. The 25-year old Meatloaf recipe is touted as the house favorite, but my group chose the Pork Medallions (daily special), Chicken Pot Pie, Prime Rib and Grilled Salmon. Suggest sticking with house specialties as Prime Rib consistency and taste was that of precooked and reheated. The Coho salmon... More

Have been here numerous times when visiting family in nearby Maple Valley. Fabulous breakfast with enormous portions. They start you off with a fresh little muffin and a dish of a peach half. Their bacon and ham are thick and delicious. Service from Sara was great. Magnificent setting with a picture window overlooking Mt. Rainier. Very kid friendly. On the... More

This morning was such a sunny fall day we decided to go for a car ride to the Black Diamond Bakery for lunch. We chose sandwiches. My husband's BLT was full of thick, crispy bacon and my Reuben had a unique sauerkraut not as tart as the usual. Both delicious. There were lots of choices on the menu so the... More

What a great place to view the mountain while enjoying a generous and delicious breakfast! Lots to chose from the menu and it all looked great! I had the eggs Benny and was in heaven! Others had the biscuits and gravy which were to die for! Giant fluffy biscuits! Service was fast and friendly. Be sure to stop at the... More
